Latexfauna is a Ukrainian musical group, which first became known in 2015. The musicians of the group perform cool tracks in Ukrainian and Surzhik. The guys of "Latexfauna" almost immediately after the founding of the group were in the center of attention of Ukrainian music lovers.
Atypical for the Ukrainian scene, dream-pop with a little strange, but very exciting lyrics - hit the music lovers in the very "heart". And here's a little spoiler that will help you understand the size of the musicians: Latexfauna's video clip for the track "Surfer" was shortlisted for the American Music Video Underground festival.
Dream Pop is a kind of alternative rock that was formed in the 80s of the last century at the junction of post-punk and ethereal. Dream pop is characterized by an atmospheric sound that blends perfectly with "airy" and gentle pop melodies.
History of Creation and Composition of Latexfauna
The original composition of the team looked like this:
- Dmitry Zezyulin;
- Konstantin Levitsky;
- Alexander Dyman.
This line-up was assembled during my student years. By the way, all of the above musicians studied at the Institute of Journalism of the KNU. In this composition, the team existed for several years and broke up. The decision to dissolve the composition was influenced by everyday issues - work, love relationships, lack of free time.
After 5 years, Zezyulin suddenly caught himself thinking that he again wanted to perform on stage, but now at a professional level. He contacted Alexander by phone and invited him to meet.
The conversation went like clockwork. They were joined by Konstantin Levitsky, and all three agreed on the "reanimation" of the group. Another new member named Alexander joined the composition. He took over as the band's keyboardist. At the same time, a new name for the group appeared. The musicians called their brainchild Latexfauna.
During the period of creative activity, the composition of "Latexfauna" has repeatedly changed. Today (2021) the group is represented by Dima Zezyulin, Ilya Sluchanko, Sasha Dyman, Sasha Mylnikov, Max Grebin. The group left Kostya Levitsky.
Musicians began to gather at the venues of classical rehearsal bases. But, as practice has shown, it turned out to be as uncomfortable as possible to exist and develop a group in such conditions. Soon the guys rented a full-fledged room and the team's affairs "boiled". Perhaps, from that moment the history of the Latexfauna group began.
Creative way and music of Latexfauna
The musicians started by presenting the Ajahuaska track to the music lovers. Alas, the composition "passed" past the ears of the listeners. It wasn't because the band was doing badly that they weren't doing quality stuff. They simply lacked promotion.
The turning point came when they submitted the tape to The Morning Spanking on Radio Aristocrats. The track was warmly received not only by experts, but also by ordinary listeners. Further, the team collaborated with Old Fashioned Radio. The stage debut took place in 2016 at the Republic festival.
A year later, Latexfauna announced that they were signing a contract with Moon Records. At the same time, the presentation of several singles of the group took place. Dmitry Zezyulin was responsible for the track covers.
In 2018, information appeared about the release of the debut LP. Before presenting a full-length studio album to the fans, the guys pleased the “fans” with the release of a new track. It's about the Kungfu composition. By the way, this song sounded unusual and different from the previous "latex" material.
Soon the band's discography was replenished with the debut album, which was called Ajahuaska. The "live" presentation of the disc took place in mid-May at the Atlas Club. The collection was warmly received by the public. In the same 2018, a video premiered for the track Doslidnytsya. Music critics described the collection as follows:
“The warm vibe, hypnotic groove and exotic lyrics put the listener in a relaxed, lazy beach state. Each track of "Latexfauna" claims to be the anthem of a carefree and warm summer ... ".

Latexfauna: our days
In 2019, the musicians toured the territory of Ukraine. At the same time, the guys were nominated for the Jager Music Awards in the "Group of the Year" nomination.
A year later, the guys pleased the fans with the release of the track KOSATKA. As the musicians said on social networks, they dedicated the song to men facing a crisis.
“Many achieve everything they have pursued. Where has the causeless joy gone, which accompanied us in our penniless youth, when we were able to enjoy only the flame of a fire built on the peaks of pink and warm rocks? - the musicians described the new piece of music.
The beginning of 2021 started with festivals and other musical events. Then the premiere of the track Arktika and the video for it took place. The description of the clip stated:
“The track tells the story of a scientist who suffered catastrophes while on an expedition to Alaska. With the help of dogs, he is saved by a local shaman - a representative of the indigenous people of America. The lyrical hero returned home ... ".
In 2021, the Ukrainian band Latexfauna released a new song Bounty and a video for it. The musicians say that this track is “the anthem of our summer”. In addition, they actively tour Ukraine. At the end of August, the guys will play a concert in Kyiv.
