He was noticed and began to be invited to city music competitions. On them he performed the songs of his favorite composer. After graduating from school, Lev Valeryanovich was going to enter a theatrical higher institution, but he did not succeed.

For about two years he worked as a simple worker at the State Academic Theatre. Then, at the insistence of his father, he began to earn extra money at one enterprise as a mechanic.

In 1961, Lev received a summons. At first he served in the tank troops, then he was called to the song and dance team. Around the same time, the artist began to prepare for entrance examinations at GITIS.

After serving in the army, the artist again made an attempt to enter the theater institute. And although by this time the entrance exams had already ended, the bright and talented performer was given another chance - and he entered.

After a year of study at the university, Lev Valeryanovich got a job at the Operetta Theater. His first role included only one offer. After the second role in the performance "The Circus Lights the Lights", the musician finally decided that the theater was not for him.

The creative path of the artist

In 1970, the singer began working for the USSR State Radio and Television. He tried himself in operas, romances, and chamber classical works. In the same year he won the All-Union competition of performers.

A few years later, Leo again won the Golden Orpheus television competition, which was held in Bulgaria. Then in Poland the jury awarded him the first international prize.

The People's Artist was married twice. He met his first wife Alla in his youth, when both were studying at the institute. But the marriage did not last long. In 1977, in Sochi, during a tour, the artist met his true love.

Irina is a student with Russian roots, but living in Hungary at that time, she did not even pay attention to the famous singer. And only a year after they met, Irina reciprocated. They merried. Unfortunately, due to a number of reasons, they do not have children.
