Josephine Hiebel (stage name Lian Ross) was born on December 8, 1962 in the German city of Hamburg (Federal Republic of Germany).

Thanks to the work of her own husband, Lian recorded a cover version of the song by the pop group Modern Talking You're My Hart, You're My Soul.

In 1987, Lian Ross recorded the song Oh Won't You Tell Me, which also quickly became popular, and then the record Do You Wanna Fuck was released.
A year later, the German singer, popular at that time, decided to reorient herself in her musical preferences and recorded compositions in the synth-pop style.
At the same time, she did not want to dwell on the chosen style of music, in 1989 she decided to record songs in the house style. One of her compositions was used by the director of the feature film Mystic Pizza.
