The birth of the Lifehouse team

The team consists of three members: Jason Wade, John Palmer (1996-2000), Sergio Andrade (1996-2004). This group started in 1996.

In Los Angeles, after the divorce of his parents, Jason Wade, the future vocalist of the band, moved. He met bassist Sergio Andrade. The guys created the Blyss group. They performed on the stage of schools, colleges, cafes and clubs.

Then producer Ron Aniello found out about the group. He introduced the band to Michael Austin (Director of DreamWorks Records). Thanks to his assistance, the team recorded their first professional songs in 1998.

The guys have not yet performed in front of a large audience, but gave private concerts in numerous nightclubs.

In 2000, the group was named Lifehouse. It was invented by the vocalist, since this band meant a lot to him. Most of the songs he wrote were dedicated to the circumstances of his life. Although in his compositions he sang about the lives of other people. Therefore, the vocalist decided that thanks to the new name, the features of their work are more manifested.

The early years of Lifehouse

Thanks to the first record No Name Face, the group achieved financial stability. It has sold over 4 million copies. The frontman was distinguished by special talents and charisma. Therefore, the DreamWorks Records label focused the public's attention on him, advertising the record.

The first songs from the album were not very successful, but the song Everything became the soundtrack to the famous TV series Smallville. Thanks to this, the group was invited to perform at the graduation ball of the high school in the city of Smallville.

John Palmer left the band by that time, and the vocalist met the future drummer, Rick Woolstenhulme. After the first album, the band embarked on a tour of the United States. And in April 2004, Sergio Andrade left the band.

The fans did not like it, they began to talk about the breakup of the team. But the remaining two members recorded the next record, which was released in 2005. The most famous song from it was You and Me. She has appeared in many TV series and films:

  • "Secrets of Smallville";
  • "Medium";
  • "Detective Rush";
  • "Gavin and Stacy";
  • "Anatomy of Passion".

The band recorded their fourth album in 2006 at Ironworks Studios. Fans have noticed that Lifehouse's sound style has changed a bit. The compositions became more complex, but mostly they were devoted to love relationships. In October 2008, Who We Are went gold.

The personal life of the participantsрuppa

Jason Wade was born into a Christian family of missionaries, so he visited many countries with his parents. He was in South and East Asia, then returned to the States. When he was 12, his parents moved and divorced. He stayed with his sister and mother. He had no friends, so he devoted himself entirely to music.

Jason Wade began writing poetry and music as a teenager. And in Los Angeles, he met people who listened to the same songs. Sergio Andrade became his first friend, and later John Palmer joined them. The first rehearsals were held in the garage, and in their free time they studied at college.

In the early 2000s, John Palmer got married, so he left the group and decided to devote himself to his family. Jason Wade also decided to get married in 2001. He dated Braden for a long time. It was for her that he wrote the song You and Me. And when he performed it, he proposed to his girlfriend.

Modern activities of the Lifehouse group

The team took a break in 2013, as almost every member began to engage in solo projects. Guitarists and drummers joined other bands. He also began performing solo. In the fall of 2013, the last performance of the Lifehouse group in front of the public took place.

A year later, the team returned to the stage. In 2015, a new album, Out of the Wasteland, was released. Then there was a tour of Europe as her support. In 2017, the band was on tour in the United States of America. And in 2018, the musicians performed in the states of South Africa.

While the team traveled around the world with concerts, nothing was known about the recording of new albums. Its members periodically changed due to life circumstances. But the vocalist remained permanent, thanks to which the group was popular.

Fans noted not only the talent of their idols, but also their simple images. Many critics considered them Christian rockers, but they sang about their lives. Although some of their songs are devoted to faith, not all compositions are decent.
