"We" is a Russian-Israeli indie pop band. At the origins of the group are Daniil Shaikhinurov and Eva Krause, formerly known as Ivanchikhina.
Until 2013, the performer lived on the territory of Yekaterinburg, where, in addition to participating in his own Red Delishes team, he collaborated with the groups Both Two and Sansara.
The history of the creation of the group "We"
Daniil Shaikhinurov is a creative person. Before founding his own project, the young man tried himself in various Russian teams. Previously, he created the duet La Vtornik, later joined the trio OQJAV and moved to the capital of Russia.
Danil's music was liked by the editor-in-chief of the men's magazine GQ Mikhail Idov. The man made the guys an offer to participate in the recording of the track for the series "Optimists". Actually, this served as a small history of the creation of the "We" group.
Eva Krause is from Rostov-on-Don. After graduation, the girl moved to her parents in Israel, where she continued her studies at the university. In addition to being known as a singer, Eva is also a popular Instagram blogger.
The project "We" appeared in 2016. The creation of a new group came after Eva posted her musical composition on Instagram. Daniil accidentally listened to the track of the young singer and suggested that the girl create an original duet.
The creative path of the group "We"
In 2017, the band's discography was replenished with a double studio album. We are talking about the disc "Distance". In support of the collection, the duo toured nightclubs in Russia. The musicians recorded their debut video clip for the song "Perhaps".
The album "Distance" received laudatory reviews not only from music lovers, but also several comments were left by such famous personalities as Mikhail Kozyrev and Yuri Dud.
The popular glossy magazine The Village included the We group in the list of performers whose records are expected with considerable interest in 2018. The musicians were named one of the main discoveries of Russian indie pop in 2017.
"Maybe" incident
January 22, 2018 student of Moscow State Technical University. Bauman Artyom Iskhakov killed and then raped Tatyana Strakhova, a student at the Higher School of Economics.
After killing the girl, the guy committed suicide. A suicide note was found at the crime scene, in which the killer indicated that he perceived the lyrics of the composition "Perhaps" as a call to murder:
"I'm sorry, I'll have to kill you, because only in this way will I know for sure that nothing between us will ever be possible...".
On January 23, 2018, a petition was launched online to ban a musical composition that prompted a young man to commit a cruel crime. The duet "We" urged to apologize in public and exclude the track "Perhaps" from their repertoire.
Daniil Shaikhinurov did not agree with the accusations. He asked journalists and the public not to associate the tragedy with the band's track. Eva Krause also commented on the tragedy. The singer did not see the connection between the murder and the song "Perhaps".
The collapse of the group "We"
On January 26, 2018, on their official page, the members of the “We” team announced that the group was ceasing creative activity. The duet attached a new track to the post, which was called "Stars".
Daniil Shaikhinurov said that the duet "We" is breaking up solely because of creative differences. The tragedy that occurred on January 23 is not connected with the collapse of the team.
In an interview with Dozhd, the young man said that Eva Krause was going to close the project a few months ago, but it turned out to be done just now.
The collapse of the group did not prevent the musicians from posting the new track "Raft" on the network. A few weeks later it became known about the preparation of a new album. In 2018, the group's discography was replenished with the collection "Winter".
Since 2018, Eva has stopped recording songs for the We group. Now the girl performed under the creative pseudonym Mirèle. She told reporters that she was no longer going to work with Daniel.
Group "We" today
Despite the collapse of the group "We", the team continued to exist. In 2019, the following tracks were presented to music lovers: "Time", "Whales", "Morning", "Dislike". In the summer of the same 2019, Daniil announced the WE FEST festival, at which he performed the band's tracks.
In 2020, Eva and Daniel teamed up again. The guys held an online concert "Quarantine". The performance was available on the MTS TV platform.
