Nico & Vinz is a famous Norwegian duo that has become popular over 10 years ago. The history of the team dates back to 2009, when the guys created a group called Envy in the city of Oslo.
Over time, it changed its name to the current one. In early 2014, the founders consulted, calling themselves Nico & Vinz. The reason for this act was the popularity of the released musical work Am I Wrong.
Formation of the Nico and Vince group
Nico Sereba and Vincent Deri had an original taste for music. African motifs formed the basis of its formation. It was from childhood - in the families of future musicians they organized events accompanied by adults.
They showed the children the culture of Africa, conducted excursions, from which the children learned a lot of interesting things. Having matured, the guys began to experiment with a combination of different musical directions. Often in their work they used pop, reggae and soul.
In 2011, the team won the competition for young talents. Success turned the guys' heads, they decided not to stop there. After winning 1st place at the festival, the band released the Why Not Me mixtape.
In the summer of the same year, the debut project One Song was released from the pen of the band. The composition took the 19th position of the local pop chat. Another studio album, which is known to most fans of modern music, was on the 37th position of the Norwegian rating of music hits.
Consolidating the success of the group Nico & Vinz
An enchanting "breakthrough" awaited young people two years later - in 2013 they became famous all over the world. After the release of the song Am I Wrong, the group began to recognize the world's "fans" of music. They signed a long-term cooperation agreement with the American corporation Warner Music Group.
In the winter of the following year, the team changed its name to Nico & Vinz. The name change was due to the desire of the performers to avoid consonance with other performers. They wanted to be more recognizable.
The composition Am I Wrong was on the 2nd position of the Norwegian hit parade called VG-lista, as well as on the 2nd position in the Tracklisten (Danish hit parade).
The national hit parade of songs also gave the team recognition and the 2nd position in the Sverigetopplistan rankings. 1st position was expected to work in Mainstream among the other 40 competitors.
Video clip for the famous song
The video for Am I Wrong was created by Kavar Singh. The action took place at the beautiful Victoria Falls. The plot of the video clip is based on the story of an African people facing problems of acceptance in the world.
The video reveals the positive aspects of the African continent against the backdrop of the ugly news of our time. The guys debunked the myths about the attitude of others towards the representatives of the African people, showed the bright side of life in this country. The clip was a fantastic success!
Other awards and recognitions
The group received one of the first awards in 2014, completing a tour of the Scandinavian countries, and the European Border Breakers awarded the team with an award known as the Spellemann Awards. In the spring of the same year, the composition Am I Wrong was first heard on radio stations in the United States of America.
The 4th position among hundreds of competitors in the Billboard Hot 100 gave the creators of the team self-confidence, instilled a desire to develop further, to open new musical horizons. The song was also featured on the American TV show Dancing with the Stars and at the I Heart Radio Music Festival.
In creative work
This year, the Black Star Elephant almanac was released, which received success and recognition around the world. In the fall of 2014, they released the song When the Day Comes.
Additionally, the group took part in the work on the song Lift Me Up with French producer David Guetta. The work of Find a Way took part not only in numerous charts, but also appeared in the movie "Salvation Lies".
In the fall of 2015, the song That's How You Know was released, which took 2nd position in the Australian and Norwegian music rating lists.
Following her, the band recorded the single Hold It Together, which became part of the Cornestone studio disc, released in 2016. Another work that received huge popularity was called Praying to a God and was also included in the third album.

Now the duo is working on creating new songs, maintains pages on social networks, and receives feedback from numerous fans. The band members prefer not to talk about their personal lives, focusing on music.
Soon the team promises to release a new album with their tracks, which fans of the talent of the performers are looking forward to.
