Nonpoint (Nonpoint): Biography of the group

In 1977, drummer Robb Rivera had the idea to start a new band, Nonpoint. Rivera moved to Florida and was looking for musicians who were not indifferent to metal and rock. In Florida, he met Elias Soriano.

In the same year, new members joined the musical group - bassist Kay B and guitarist Andrew Goldman. The young guys were famous bass players in Florence. They already had their fans, which was definitely in favor of the development of the Nonpoint group.

The band made a significant contribution to the development of nu metal. The band's debut album was so successful that it became immediately clear that these guys are worthy of attention. The 8 albums that the members of the Nonpoint group managed to release were very popular with nu-metal fans.

Nonpoint discography

Album Statement (2000-2002)

On October 10, 2000, the band released Statement on their new label MCA Records. In support of the album, Nonpoint embarked on a national tour. The main performance in it was considered the band's concert on the Ozzfest festival tour in 2001.

A year after the release, the album hit the Billboard 200 Chart, where it took 166th position. The first single from the album, Whata Day, peaked at number 24 on the Mainstream Rock Chart.

Development (2002-2003)

The second studio album Development was released on June 25, 2002. The album peaked at number 52 on the Billboard Chart.

The first single from the album, Your Signs, peaked at number 36 on the Mainstream Rock Chart.

Nonpoint performed for the second time as part of the Ozzfest festival tour. The band took part in the Locobazooka Tour where they shared the stage with Sevendust, Papa Roach and Filter.

The second single, Circles, was included on the NASCAR Thunder 2003 compilation.

Album Recoil (2003-2004)

Two years after Development, Nonpoint released their third album Recoil on August 3, 2004. The release was released thanks to the record company Lava Records. The album peaked at number 115 on Billboard. The first single, The Truth, peaked at number 22 on the Mainstream Rock chart. A little later, the second single from the Rabia album was released.

To the Pain, Live and Kicking (2005-2006)

After terminating their contract with Lava Records, the band began to collaborate with the independent label Bieler Bros. records. One of the owners of this label was Jason Beeler, who produced the group's three previous albums.

The second single, Alive and Kicking, peaked at number 25. In the second half of 2005, Nonpoint went on a three-month tour with Sevendust. The last performance was a concert in New Hampshire. The band also took part in the Music as a Weapon Tour. Shared the stage with Disturbed, Stone Sour and Fly Leaf.

On November 7, 2006 Nonpoint released a DVD titled Live and Kicking. The recording of the concert was created on April 29, 2006 in Florida. During the first week of sales, 3475 copies of the disc were sold.

On September 18, 2008, To the Pain released over 130 copies in the US.

Nonpoint sales and popularity (2007-2009)

On November 6, 2007 Nonpoint released their fifth album Vengeance through Bieler Bros. records. During the first week of sales, 8400 copies of the album were bought. Thanks to this, the group started at number 129 on the Billboard chart.

The first single March of War was published before the release of the album on the band's official MySpace page. A part of the Wake Up World composition was also presented there.

A remix of the song Everybody Down was featured on the WWE Smack Down vs. Raw 2008. The band took part in the Great American Rampage Tour for the first time. On December 1, 2007, during a concert in Florida, Soriano broke his shoulder while performing the first composition.

Despite this, he finished the concert. On December 2 in New Jersey, the band helped him take the stage, and he played most of his parts with his foot. During the performance of Broken Bones, he clarified what had happened.

Updates as part of the Nonpoint group

On September 3, Nonpoint's official MySpace page announced that guitarist Andrew Goldman had left the band due to "lost interest in the world of music."

The band also announced that their tour will continue in October with a new guitarist. A little later, it became known that Zach Broderick from the band Modern Day Zero became the new guitarist. These were the first changes in the composition of the group for the entire time of its existence.


On January 20, 2009, drummer Rivera announced that the band had left Bieler Bros. Records and is looking for a new studio, producer. Soon Nonpoint signed a contract with Split Media LLC. In February 2009 the band went on tour with Mudvayne and In This Moment.

In May 2009, the band made several demo recordings. This material was released on Nonpoint as "954 Records" on December 8, 2009. The mini-disc was called Cut The Cord, in which the band collected acoustic cover versions of the compositions.

The band also presented a cover version of Pantera's 5 Minutes Alone. The track was posted on MySpace. And it became a bonus track of a collection of cover versions from Metal Hammer magazine, which was released under the name Dimebag on December 16th.

Album Miracle (2010)

The next album, Nonpoint, was released on May 4, 2010. The first single and self-titled track from Miracle appeared on iTunes on March 30, 2010. The album debuted at number 6 on Billboard's Hard Rock Albums, at number 11 on the Alternative Albums Chart.

This album became the group's most successful debut on the Billboard chart. Miracle also started at number 59 on the Billboard 200. This result did not become a record in the group's individual album standings, but took 2nd place. In addition, the album peaked at number 12 on the Independent Albums chart. On iTunes, the group took 4th position in sales, on Amazon - 1st position in the hard rock category.

The release of the album was followed by a massive UK tour. In 2010, the band toured the US with the band Drowning Pool. She also gave a concert as part of the Ozzfest festival tour.

Nonpoint (2011)

In early March 2011, Nonpoint played their first show in Australia as part of the Soundwave Festival. The band also released a cover version of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean.

The band also released a collection of their best songs called Icon. The band presented both their early work and rare compositions, such as the acoustic version of What A Day, as well as Across the Line and Pickle. This album was released on April 5 via UMG.

The band announced that they are preparing material for an album, which was released on Razor & Tie. The recording of the self-titled album Nonpoint was created with producer Johnny Kay.

The first composition presented by the group was the track I Said It. According to the band's preliminary statements, the album was scheduled for release on September 18, 2012, but it was released on October 9. On October 1, 2012, a video clip for the song Left For You was released.

Nonpoint (2012)

The disc includes 12 extraordinary tracks by young performers. The top tracks on the Nonpoint record were the tracks: “Another Mistake”, “Journey Time”, “Independence Day”.

Fans were disappointed with one thing - the total duration of the songs that were on the disc was less than 40 minutes. After the release of the disc, the guys went on a tour mini-tour, which they organized in honor of the new album.

Album The Return (2014)

After a two-year break, the musicians presented their new album The Return to their fans. The first single from the album Breaking Skin was released on August 12, 2014. The name of the album The Return, which in translation meant "Return", arose for a reason.

The musicians had a real creative crisis after the tour. The release of this disc was given to the musical group very hard. According to music critics, the album turned out to be of high quality and very worthy!

Album The Poison Red (2016)

The ninth studio album was recorded in the summer of 2016. The record was produced by Rob Ruccia. The old vocalist has been replaced by a new one. The talented BC Kochmit became this lucky guy.

The leaders and "veterans" of the musical group were very worried about how the fans would accept the new member. But as it turned out, there was nothing to worry about. The ninth studio album was very warmly received by fans. The Poison Red album has sold over 1 million copies worldwide.

X (2018)

The tenth studio album of the same name "X" was released in late summer 2018. Music critics noted that the guys moved away from their usual image a little. A number of video clips deserve considerable attention, where the soloist, together with the rest of the band members, tries on original images.

While in the work of the group - a lull. The musicians do not say anything about the release of the new album. They continue to give concerts for their fans.
