Any person who is at least a little familiar with modern Russian rap has probably heard the name Obladaet. A young and bright rap artist stands out well from other hip-hop artists.
Who is Obladaet?
So, Obladaet (or simply Possesses) is Nazar Votyakov. A guy was born in Irkutsk in 1991. The boy grew up in an incomplete family. Nazar's mother is a fashion designer. Since childhood, Possesses been drawn to the stage. Being an artistic child, he even performed in KVN.
Back in elementary school, Nazar heard one famous song by the most popular rapper in the world. Of course, we are talking about Eminem and his track “The Real Slim Shady”. Like another Russian rapper, Sergey Kruppov (ATL), Nazar was very impressed with Eminem. The boy asked his mother to buy him a whole album of his favorite artist.
In adolescence Possesses begins to actively engage in sports. He chose a rather interesting direction - tennis. In addition, he also played football and hockey.
First musical ideas rapper Obladaet
Nazar decides to go to a small local battle. It is rap battles that often help musicians break into people. In addition, Nazar wanted to improve his rapping skills.
Next year, Possessed goes to the 15th independent battle hip-hop.ru. There he reached the third stage. In 2014, Nazar received a diploma from the Irkutsk National University.
After graduation, the guy has an idea about moving from Irkutsk to St. Petersburg. Nazar also decides to change tennis for squash, considering this activity more promising. In the summer of 2014, the first track of the artist is released. Although the song “0 To 100” is a remix of the rapper Drake, Possess still received the first portion of popularity.

Stage name
The pseudonym Obladaet appeared when Nazar was watching the TV series “Special”. In one of the dialogues, the word “possesses” was used. It was about the card sharper and his abilities.
For some reason, it was this word that Nazar remembered the most, and decided to use it as a pseudonym.
Therefore, it is worth noting that such a stage name looks unusual and stylish, because apart from Nazar, no one else used the verb as a pseudonym.
After moving
Of course, the idea of a musical career was constantly in Nazar's head, but sports always came first.
But fate turned out so that after arriving in a big city, Nazar was able to establish contacts with quite successful musicians. Among these was Thomas Mraz, with whom he recorded one of his first major releases.
The growing popularity leads the guy to the thought: “Why don’t I agree to a battle?”. And yes, he agrees. The first skirmish happened with Redo.
There is a principle - the battle must have some kind of background, otherwise it makes no sense. The battle spread across the Internet. The audience liked both rappers, which helped Possess and Redo gain new fans.
A little later, Nazar got on television, which significantly expanded the boundaries of his popularity. Almost everyone started talking about him, and not just true connoisseurs of rap.
"Double Tap" and "Files"
The first album was not long in coming. “Double Tap” includes not only original tracks by Possess, but also by another artist – Ilumeit. The album itself was released in 2016 after a series of successful concerts.
The second album was a work called "Files". The record received favorable reviews from listeners, and soon clips for songs from “Files” were released.
One of these works was the clip “I am”. It is notable for the fact that the rapper demonstrated in it his old passion - tennis. However, the clip itself has a rather interesting structure, and it is far from being about sports.
"Grunge: Chloe and Relationships"
Released in 2018, the album “Grunge: Chloe and Relationships” also has a number of quite successful songs and videos. One of the most popular works was the video for the song “Wrong”. Here Nazar plays the role of a crazy person, or even a maniac.
Around the same time, Nazar begins to release his line of clothing. It is worth noting that as a designer he was quite successful. The clothing line has been popular for two years now.
In the same 2018, "Ice Cream" was released - the rapper's third work with the participation of Feduk and Jeembo.
Autumn 2019 years
In October Possess publishes his EP 3D19. And in November, during one of his concerts in Moscow, the rapper demonstrates a video for the song “HOOKAH”. The video appeared in public access only a few days later - Possesses uploaded it to YouTube video hosting.

Eminem pushed Votyakov to style and, in general, to his passion for rap. But Nazar himself has departed quite a bit from the canonical sound of rap music.
