The Emergence of the Austrian Opus Collective
The year of creation of the Austrian popular group Opus is 1973. Members of the amateur group gathered in a small town called Stegersbach.
Initially, young musicians performed with cover versions of such famous world star bands as Deep Purple and Colosseum. The band's first solo concert took place in August 1973.
Five years later, young people went to get higher education in the city of Graz. At that time, the group included:

- Kurt Rene Plisnier - keyboards
- Walter Bachkonig is the band's bassist.
In the same 1978, a wonderful vocalist, whose name is Herwig Rudisser, joined the group.
The creative path of the pop group Opus
It took the young people two years to record their debut album. The record was called Day Dreams. The same year 1980 became a landmark for the pop group, as Walter Bachkonig left it.
In his place came Niki Gruber (Niki Gruber) and the group was finally formed.
The album turned out to be popular among Austrian lovers of quality music and subsequently the band began to create records:
- 1981 - young musicians recorded the album Eleven (entered the top ten of the Austrian hit parade and became gold);
- in 1982 the vinyl record Opusition was released;
- 1984 The record Up and Down appeared on the music market.
The producers of the pop group planned that the eponymous composition from the last album for 1984 would increase the popularity of the Opus group in the UK and the United States of America.
The appearance of the hit Life is Life
In the same 1984, the group decided to celebrate the 11th anniversary. Thousands of fans of the band came to the solemn concert.
It was on it that the pop group first performed the song Life Is Life, which is still popular today. This song was the leader of the charts in many countries.
The team gained popularity on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. In 1984, the guys recorded a new disc, which they call Life Is Life.
Hit parade leader
The group Opus became the leader of the charts on MTV, GB, Solid Gold and many others. Their video clip for the song is constantly played on music television channels, and the composition is constantly played on radio stations.

- 1997 - the album Love, God & Radio was released.
The fans of the Austrian band had to wait seven years for the next disc. Only in 2004 the guys recorded the album The Beat Goes On. The latest disc Opus & Friends was released in 2013.

The popular musical group Opus still organizes tours. They mainly tour their native Austria, as well as Germany, Switzerland and regularly perform in other countries, including Russia.
