The beginning of the career of the band Reamonn

In the turbulent 1990s, Irish musician Raymond Garvey (Fred) arrived in Germany with 50 marks in his pocket, eager to form his own band. He already had experience playing in his homeland, but it did not end in anything serious.

He arrived in the city of Freiburg, where he placed an advertisement in the local newspaper that the vocalist needed a team. First came the drummer - Mike Gommeringer (Gomez).

Together they decided to form their own band and pick up the rest of the team.

Expansion of the Reamonn team

Gomez invited his old friend Sebastian Padocke to the band, and he brought guitarist Uwe Bossert, and six months later bassist Philipp Raunbusch also appeared in the band. All but frontman Raymond Garvey (Fred) are from southwest Germany.

Competent advertising

A special set was arranged in one of the Hamburg clubs and the Reamonn band performed spectacularly in front of 16 labels. Thus, they secured their choice and accepted the offer by signing with Virgin Records.

The album's first record took place at the Take One studio in Frankfurt. A professional venue with expensive equipment gave their songs a professional sound.

The music was brought together already in London, in Manchester, where the famous producer Steve Liom helped to "promote" the group.

The first album of the group

The debut album Tuesday received significant success throughout Europe. The musicians were invited to rock festivals, later they went on a world tour with a Finnish group. All lyrics were written by Raymond Garvey.

Music, on the other hand, was obtained collectively, each musician took an equal part in this, adding something of his own. Everyone put their passion, energy and sincere emotions into it.

The specifics of the group's music

The band's music is usually melodic and energetic, but there are also heavier songs such as Valentine, Faith or Flowers.

However, the universal hit of all time was and remains Supergirl. It was top on radio stations in Austria, the Netherlands and other European countries.

The group increased their popularity with their cheerful behavior at concerts where the guys were having fun. The charisma of the soloist, together with his enormous energy, also meant a lot. Having come to listen to one song, the audience left the concerts as devoted fans.

The second album recorded in Tuscany was called Dream No. 7, which also received good critical acclaim, peaked at number 6 on the German music charts.

The band went on tour with him. Album Beautiful Sky was recorded in Spain, marked in the top three and received platinum.

Heavy burden of fame

After the third album, the musicians decided to take a time out, and fame began to "press" them a little. Two years passed before the Reamonn band returned to work, with the help of the famous Greg Fidelman from Los Angeles.

The group's style, despite the change of location, remained the same - pop-rock, "seasoned" with a solid "portion" of electronics. The Wish album sold well and was a great commercial success. It was from this album that everyone remembered the hit Tonight.

The sad breakup of the group

After the Wish album, the group broke up - the musicians began to shun each other. After all, music very much depends on the team, on the general mood and mutual respect.

Yet again, a few years later, the Reamonn group returned to the studio, creating an album of the same name. These were serious compositions and matured sound.

After the last farewell collection, Raymond Garvey took up a solo career. The rest of the musicians left for Stereo Love.
