Childhood Rob Thomas
Thomas was born on February 14, 1972 on the territory of an American military base located in the German city of Landstuhl. Unfortunately, the guy's parents did not get along in character and soon divorced.
Rob spent most of his childhood in Florida and South Carolina. The guy was interested in music from an early age.
At the age of 13, he clearly realized that he wanted to connect his own life with a musical career, he was ready to make every effort, making any decisions.
Therefore, at the age of 17, the guy abandoned his studies, ran away from home and began to earn a living by singing along with unknown musical groups.
Musician career
For several years, the guy performed at concerts of a small scale - at city holidays, in clubs, etc.
Despite the fact that he was the opening act for the musicians, this allowed him to gain experience. He soon realized that in order to achieve fame, he urgently needed to change his path.
In 1993, the guy created his own team Tabitha's Secret, which consisted of three people. Unfortunately, the team failed to achieve significant success, but, despite this fact, the musicians still released several high-quality albums.
These records even now have fans in different parts of the globe. But still the team did not last long and broke up after just a few years.
Rob Thomas decided to form a new band, Matchbox Twenty, and debuted in 1996. Surprisingly, the team immediately "took off" to the Olympus of fame, and the first disc was released with a circulation of 25 million copies.
Many of the songs performed were able to stay at the top of the charts for several weeks, and in some countries even for 2-3 months.
Thanks to the unique specifics of the work, the team managed to create high-quality compositions that people of different sexes and ages liked. Therefore, Rob was offered a collaboration with Carlos Santana.
Thanks to this, Thomas received the long-awaited Grammy Award, and he also appeared on the front pages of many magazines, and one of them was even recognized as the most handsome man in the world.
After that, the musician began to be invited to work in various projects. Among his partners were such celebrities as:

- Bernie Taupin;
- Paul Wilson.
Despite this, the Matchbox Twenty team continued to exist, and released several more albums. But constant touring was very exhausting, the musicians announced that they had decided to take an unplanned vacation.
But, perhaps, solo performances can still be called the best stage of Rob's career. After all, he released several independent records, and the compositions included in them were in all tops on radio stations.

In total, the artist has received 113 Broadcast Music Incorporated awards, several Grammy awards, and a Starlight award over the years of his career. In addition, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001.
In 2007, he released another Little Wonders song, which was chosen as the soundtrack for the animated film Meet the Robinsons, which is produced by The Walt Disney Company.
After that, several more albums were released, and almost 50% of the songs became real hits.
But, unfortunately, the busy tour schedule and sudden popularity did not allow Thomas to finish school, and also go to university for higher education.
Despite this fact, the musician is a fairly well-read person, an intelligent and polite interlocutor. He said he was educating himself, and his favorite authors were Kurt Vonnegut and Tom Robbins.
The personal life of an artist
In late 1997, Rob met model Marisol Maldonado. It happened at a noisy party in Montreal. Sympathy arose instantly and was mutual on both sides.
In an interview, Rob said: “After the first kiss, I instantly realized that Marisol is my destiny, and I no longer want to touch other lips!”.
But, unfortunately, at the time of their acquaintance, Thomas was on a world tour, and from Montreal he went to another city in the morning, so he first spoke with his chosen one only by phone.
She even began to doubt whether to continue the relationship. Marisol did not like this scenario, and she wanted to become a legal wife.
But nevertheless, the long-awaited proposal was made, and in October 1998 a magnificent wedding of lovers took place. Rob has a son, Mason, who was born on July 10 of the same year.
