Childhood and youth of Gary Moore

The future musician was born on April 4, 1952 in Belfast (Northern Ireland). Even before the birth of the child, the parents decided that they would name him Robert William Gary Moore.

The baby's dad was the owner of a dance parlor. This is where Moore's love of creativity came from. He regularly attended modern performances, where he could enjoy listening to his favorite music.

When Gary was 8 years old, he took acoustic guitar lessons. From birth, he was left-handed, but this feature did not become an obstacle to mastering the instrument.

At the age of 14, Moore received an electric guitar from his father as a gift, which became the guy's "best friend". Gary sat at the game all his free time and picked up chords for future hits.

He admired the work of Elvis Presley and The Beatles, and was also a fan of Jimi Hendrix.

When the guy was 16 years old, he created his own band Skid Row. Blues-rock was chosen as the main direction. Soon Gary Moore led another group The Gary Moore Band, with whom two debut albums were recorded.

The group did not last long and broke up already in 1973, after which Gary first became part of the Thin Lizzy group, and then joined the Colosseum II group.

It was with the second group that the guy worked for 4 years, but then he again decided to become a member of the Phil Lynott team.

Musical career of Gary Moore

In the late 1970s, the artist released his solo record Back On The Streets, and one of the songs instantly hit all the charts and entered the top 10 best songs of the month.

This was the impetus to try to re-create their musical group, but the group G-Force ceased to exist after only 6 months from the moment of creation.

Therefore, Gary soon found a new home for himself, becoming a member of the Greg Lake group. But in parallel, he developed as a solo artist, recording tracks in studios.

The year 1982 was very important for Moore - he released a record that took the 30th position in Britain, which was sold in 250 thousand copies. From that moment on, there was not a single empty seat at Gary's concerts.

Following this, several more compositions were released, which were included in the top ten songs in the country.

In 1990, the next album Still Got The Blues was released, recorded together with Albert King, Don Airey and Albert Collins. From that moment began the blues period in Moore's career.

The musician has created three collections, one of which included the best blues style ballads released since 1982.

In 1997, Moore again presented a new disc, where he surprised the audience by performing vocal parts. But the fans did not like this decision, and they spoke negatively about the modifications in the style of the idol.

A few years later, Gary again decided to experiment, but again he failed, receiving another "portion" of criticism.

Therefore, the singer took a long break, and released the next disc only seven years later, deciding to return to his usual blues-rock. The fans liked it, and over the next two years he presented several more albums.

In 2010, Moore went on a tour, and as part of it he visited the Russian Federation. In addition to the capital, he was also in seven cities of Russia. And when the performer returned to his homeland, he created a collection of the greatest hits Greatest Hits.

The personal life of an artist

The performer was a very secretive person. It is known that even at the beginning of his career he had a stormy romance, as a result of which a daughter was born, but the relationship did not work out.

In 1985, the wedding took place with the doctor Kerry, and soon the musician became the happy father of two sons, but the couple divorced after 8 years.

Then Gary again tried to start a family, married an artist, and she gave him a daughter. But this marriage was also annulled after 10 years.

In 2009, despite a decent age, Moore began to care for Petra, who is a resident of Germany. She was 2 times younger than the musician.

Despite this, the couple planned the marriage, which was to take place in the summer of 2011.

Together with Petra, the performer flew to Spain on vacation, where he died unexpectedly on the night of February 6. Doctors diagnosed a heart attack. Petra was the first to find Gary's body and tried to help him, but it was all in vain.

According to doctors, death occurred due to natural causes. As Gary's friends and acquaintances said, he had long given up alcohol and drugs.
