Dredg is a progressive/alternative rock band from Los Gatos, California, USA, formed in 1993. On February 23, 2009, Dredg was released from Interscope Records. On the same day, the title of the long-awaited album was announced: The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion. The band's new labels for the album were Independent Label Group and Ohlone Recordings. The album was released on June 9, 2009 on CD and vinyl. The videos were filmed for the songs Information and I Don't Know. The album's concept was based on an essay by Ahmed Salman Rushdie. "Imagine There Is No Heaven: A Letter to the Six Billionth Citizen". Both the essay and the album Dredg address issues of agnosticism, faith, and society. The album cover features artwork by Rohner Segnitz of Division Day. A characteristic feature of the album are the compositions called Stamps of Origin.
