As a child, he studied the trumpet. The instrument captivated him with its sound. By that time he was listening to rock. Ronnie already knew exactly where he was going next.
Perhaps Ronnie would never have known that he had a strong voice. The head of the family sent his son to the church choir. It was here that he revealed his vocal potential.
At the end of the 50s, he "put together" the first project. His offspring was called Ronnie & The Redcaps, and later the musicians performed under the banner of Ronnie Dio & The Prophets. Actually from this moment the creative biography of the artist begins.

In 67, the musicians renamed the group The Electric Elves. Ronnie left the same musicians in the band. Over time, the guys began to perform under the banner of Elf. Admirers of the group's work noted that after the name change, the sound of the tracks became heavier.
In the early 70s of the last century, Roger Glover and Ian Paice attended a concert of the band. The rockers were so impressed by what they heard that after the performance they approached Ronnie and offered to help record their debut LP.
Then Ronnie's team will perform more than once on the heating of the Deep Purple team. At one of the regular concerts, the voice of the musician was heard by Ritchie Blackmore. He said that Dio has a great future.
In the mid-70s, a new musical project was formed, which was called Rainbow. Dio and Blackmore wrote several studio LPs for the band, and at the end of the 70s they simply went their separate ways. The reason for the discord was that the guitarist wanted to create a commercial project from the group, and Dio insisted that creativity should be above money. As a result, he left for the Black Sabbath band.
The new team did not become eternal for him. He spent only three years in the group. In the early 90s, he briefly returned to help the musicians in the recording of the LP.
Founding of the Dio group
In the early 80s, Ronnie matured to create his own project. The musician's brainchild was named God. A year after the founding of the group, the debut LP was released. The studio was named Holy Driver. The collection entered the "golden fund" of hard rock.
Throughout their long career, the musicians have recorded 10 full-length studio albums. The release of each new LP was accompanied by a storm of emotions among fans.
He has been on stage for over 40 years. Ronnie was a functional member of the bands. He was responsible for the arrangement, vocals, the sound of individual musical instruments. Everything was on him. It is not surprising that after the death of the rocker, the Dio project simply ceased to exist.

At the end of the 70s, he remarried his manager Wendy Gaxiola. In 85, it became known that the couple had divorced. Despite the separation, they still continued to communicate.
