The history of the creation of a musical group

In 1987, Alexander and Yuri officially announced the creation of the Gaza Strip group.
It is interesting that initially Yuri Khoy deals only with organizational issues. He held a leading position in the traffic police. Perhaps the audience would never have seen him on stage if not for Alexander Kocherga, who noted that Yuri has a good voice and musical taste.
In the spring of 1987, Yuri begins to work hard on musical compositions. The songs he wrote always turned out to be bold, a little angry and provocative. But this was his “trick”, which more than one singer could not repeat.
Initially, the group consisted of one Yuri Khoy. The performer has been pleasing fans of hard and punk rock for a long time with songs and guitar solos, and then other members of the band, who perform at a local rock club, joined.
For several years of hard work, the Gaza Strip group has become popular. The musical group was known throughout the entire Soviet Union. The Gaza Strip begins to perform on the same stage with such stars as the Sounds of Mu and Civil Defense.

If we talk about the composition of the musical group, then the non-replaceable soloist of the group was only one person - Yuri Khoi. The band's music was composed of guitarists, drummers, bass players and backing vocalists.
The first composition of the musical group included the following musicians: drummer Oleg Kryuchkov and bass guitarist Semyon Titievskiy. But it was not possible to keep the musicians in the middle for a long time. Someone was not satisfied with a tight schedule, but someone wanted more money.
After the release of two albums, the musical group acquired a million-strong army of fans. In 1991, the composition of the group changed somewhat. Due to disagreements, the team leaves Kushchev, who decided to devote himself to producing his own group. The talented Lobanov comes to replace Kushchev.
In addition to the constant change of musicians, Yuri Khoi changes producers like gloves. Yuri repeatedly notes that Sergey Savin has become a “second father” for their musical group. Thanks to Savin, the Gaza Strip began active tours.
For a long time, fans of the rock band did not know what Yuri Khoy looked like. Fraudsters traveled around the countries of the USSR for a long time, giving concerts under the name of the Gaza Strip. The Evil Dead is the band's debut album. The guys were working on the first disc in the city of Voronezh.
By the standards of studio recording, the guys turned out to be a very vile album. A little later, Yuri Khoy admitted to reporters that he wrote The Evil Dead in just 4 days.
"The Evil Dead", like the second album "Yadrena louse", which was released in 1994, influenced the formation of a style that became the hallmark of the musical group: fans call Khoy's music "collective farm".
Yuri himself was somewhat not offended by such a characterization of his creations, and jokingly called his songs "collective farm punk rock."
Philosophy of Gaza Group
The musical compositions of the Gaza Strip were filled with black humor and countryside. Later, this will become a real philosophy for the band. Their tracks are sung with a guitar, they can be heard at local discos in the village.
Most of the compositions of Yuri Khoy contained obscene language, so they were not put on the radio. But a little later, a couple of tracks still began to play on the local radio. Hoi himself was not at all upset by the fact that he was considered an outcast. He believed that his informal music was created for a "special" listener.
In 1996, Yuri Khoi decided to experiment and change the style of the group. Now, foul language in his songs is taboo. This turn of events went into the hands of the musical group. The compositions of the Gaza Strip were rotated on the air of the Yunost radio station.
In 1997, the Gaza Strip presents the album "Gas Attack". This record becomes the best-selling album in the history of the musical group.
The main track of the album is the song "30 years", without which not a single feast can do.
In 1998, another worthy work by Hoy was released, which was called "Ballads". This album helped Yuri fill a creative break. The record is warmly received not only by fans of Hoy's work, but also by music critics.
A little more time passes after the presentation of the album "Ballads". The August crisis hit the musical group. Most of the band members were laid off. Inspiration was gone, everyday problems appeared much more.
The last album of the group "Raiser from Hell" was presented after the death of Yuri Khoy. Music critics note that it was the most mystical and heavy album in the history of the Gaza Strip group.
Gaza Strip now
After the death of Yuri Khoy, the musicians announced the termination of the musical group. In the period 2017-2018, the musicians held a number of concerts for fans. They performed with the program "Gaza: 30 years of the legendary band."
In 2019, Yuri Khoi could have turned 55 years old. The musicians organized the program "Gaza Strip: Yuri Khoi is 55 years old", which will be held in major cities of the Russian Federation.
