The childhood of the singer Sergey Lemeshev

Seryozha Lemeshev was born on July 10, 1902. The boy's family lived in the village of Staroe Knyazevo, not far from Tver. Serezha's parents, Yakov Stepanovich and Akulina Sergeevna, had three children.

The father of the family realized that while living in the village, it would not be possible to provide everyone with a decent life. He went to work in a nearby town. The mother was left alone with the children.

It was difficult for a woman to watch the three weather and still do household chores. Soon one child died, brothers Sergey and Alexei remained in the family. The boys were very friendly, tried to help their mother.

Sergey Lemeshev and the first manifestations of talent

The parents of the future singer had excellent hearing and vocal abilities. Seryozha's mother sang in the choir at the church. She, being a simple woman from the people, having a family and a household, did not strive for development in this area. At the same time, Akulina Sergeevna was awarded the title of the best singer in the village.

Seryozha inherited the talents of his parents in the musical field. As a child, he loved to sing folk songs. The boy had a penchant for lyrics, which he was shy about. Therefore, creativity had to be given free rein in the forest. The boy liked to walk alone on mushrooms and berries, singing sad, iridescent texts at the top of his voice.

Departure of the artist to St. Petersburg

At the age of 14, Serezha, together with his father's brother, left for St. Petersburg. There he learned the craft of a shoemaker. The boy did not like the profession, and the income was insignificant. At the same time, Lemeshev recalled with admiration his first impressions of the big city.

Here he first learned that people can earn money by creative work, playing in the cinema, theater, singing songs. Forget about the city, dreams of a beautiful life forced the revolution. Sergey, together with his uncle, returned to his native land.

Getting the basics in the field of education by Sergey Lemeshev

During the October Revolution, the father of the Lemeshev family died. Mother and sons were left without money. Grown up boys were hired to work in the field. Mom worked in a school for gifted peasant children, organized by the Kvashnins. The brothers Seryozha and Lyosha were also invited to study here. The talent of the singers was impossible not to notice.

Alexei, with a strong and rich voice, had no desire to engage in "empty" business. And Sergey with a deep lyrical, soulful tenor comprehended science with pleasure. They were engaged with the boys not only in the field of vocals, but also in musical notation. They successfully filled gaps in knowledge. Different sciences were taught here - Russian language, literature, history, foreign languages. At the Kvashnins' school, Seryozha learned Lensky's aria, the performance of which later became the pearl of his career.

First steps towards career development

Sergei considered that he was ready to present his work to the general public in 1919. He walked in the winter, putting on felt boots and putting on a cotton sheepskin coat, went to Tver. Having reached the city, the guy lived with friends. In the morning Lemeshev went to the main city club. Sidelnikov (director of the institution), having listened to the young singer's repertoire, agreed that he should perform. The applause from the audience was overwhelming. Career development at this stage ended with a single performance.

Lemeshev also went on foot to his native land. Six months later, he came to the city with a desire to stay here. Sergei entered the cavalry school. This step gave him housing, food, a modest monetary allowance. Whenever possible, he visited local cultural institutions - theaters, concerts. In the same period, he received knowledge at a music school under the auspices of Sidelnikov.

In 1921 Lemeshev entered the Moscow Conservatory. He went through a tough selection process. Sergei got on a course with Raisky. Here he learned to breathe and sing again. It turned out that before the young man did it wrong. Despite the poverty of student life, Lemeshev tried to regularly attend the conservatory and the Bolshoi Theater. Sergei was not limited to his course. He took lessons from famous teachers, developing his skills in many ways. As a result, the singer's voice became diverse, not only strength appeared, but also the ability to perform complex main parts.
