SHINee has made a big splash in the music scene. It all started with the name, because literally it means "carrying light." The production campaign positioned the band as future trendsetters in musical fashion. In May 2008, the first mini-album was released.
It immediately hit the top 10 of the best Korean records. The debut studio album was accompanied by the band's first performance on stage. The musicians were actively working, and two months later they presented a full-fledged album. It was received better than the first. The compilation entered the top 3 in Korea.
The team received a lot of nominations and awards. SHINee started getting invited to music festivals all over the country. At the end of the year, the group was named "The best new male team of the year."
The development of SHINee's musical career
In 2009, the band presented two mini-LPs. The favor of the "fans" continued the development of the group. The third mini-album "blew up" all the music charts. Songs occupied only leading positions, leaving no chance for other performers.
SHINee spent the second half of the year and early 2010 preparing their second studio album. It came out in the summer of 2010. At the same time, the musicians first took part in a popular South Korean music television program.
The musicians devoted the next two years to traveling and touring. They performed at large music venues, among which was the Olympic Arena. Another achievement was the popularity of the group in Japan. The Japanese liked SHINee very much, and the musicians were able to organize several shows in Tokyo.
Moreover, the track Replay in Japanese broke all sales records among Korean musicians. As a result, the group went on a full tour of Japan with 20 concerts in 2012. It was followed by performances in Paris, London and New York.
The third full-fledged musical work was divided into two parts. Accordingly, the presentation took place at different times. This contributed to even greater interest among fans. In parallel, the musicians presented two mini-albums, which made the “fans” very happy.
Then came the second studio album in Japanese and there was a new concert tour in Japan. The third international tour took place in the spring of 2014. The musicians went on an unusual journey for Koreans. Many performances took place in Latin America. The concerts were filmed and a full-fledged collection of recordings of performances was published.
SHINee Artists Currently
In 2015, SHINee practiced a new show format. They took place for several days in a row at the same venue in Seoul. In the spring, the presentation of the fourth Korean record took place. The group began to gain popularity in the United States of America. Record sales were huge. The following years passed on the wave of success, until a terrible event occurred in 2017. In September, one of the team members died. Eventually it became known that Jonghyun had committed suicide.
The group resumed concert activity the following year. The musicians began with a memorable concert in Japan. Then the group released several new singles and actively performed in television programs and competitions. It is not surprising that mostly musicians took prizes.
During 2019-2020 The guys served in the army. This affected Onew, Khee and Minho. After demobilization, they planned to resume performances. However, in 2020, concert activity was suspended due to the pandemic, as was the release of songs. In January 2021, the band announced that they were returning to the stage and planning to release a compilation.
