The musical group "Sweet Dream" gathered full houses in the 1990s. The songs "Scarlet Roses", "Spring", "Snowstorm", "May Dawns", "On the White Blanket of January" in the early and mid-1990s were sung by fans from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and the CIS countries.
The composition and history of the creation of the musical group Sweet Dream
The team started with the Bright Way group. The group appeared in the 1980s under the strict guidance of producer Vladimir Maslov.
The songs that were included in the debut album "Svetly Path" were performed by vocalist Alexei Svetlichny. In addition to Alexei, the group included Sergey Vasyuta and Oleg Khromov.
The group did not last long. A year later, conflicts began to occur within the team.
As a result, Khromov left the project, and Maslov and Vasyuta, who received the role of the main soloist, decided to continue to play music and create themselves. The soloists decided to rename the group to "Sweet Dream".
In 1993, another member came to the team - Mikhail Samoshin. A year later, there was a conflict between the creator of the band and the main vocalist. Sergey Vasyuta won this "fight" and declared himself the leader of the "Sweet Dream" group.
But Maslov and Khromov used the created brand in parallel with Vasyuta. Thus, fans received three Sweet Dream groups at once with different compositions.
In the records released by Khromov, both solo songs and tracks were performed by Andrei Razin, Alexei Svetlichny and other performers.
In the mid-1990s, Maslov released a collection of a new sample of the group with vocals from his son Ruslan and Mikhail Samoshin.
In 1994, a new member appeared in the Sweet Dream group - Pavel Mikheev. The young man took the place of the vocalist. Pavel had a velvety and "honey" voice, which was remembered by many for its purity and softness.
Creative way and music of the group
If we go back to the origins, then the Bright Way group managed to record one debut disc, Night February.
The collection includes only 5 songs. The tracks were recorded in terrible quality. The album included the track, which later became a hit, "On the White Blanket of January".
At the end of 1990, the team was named "Sweet Dream". At the Nika recording studio, the musicians began recording tracks for the first album.
The musical compositions of the group's first album sounded in every apartment. Sergey Vasyuta sang “On the White Blanket of January” and “Night February”, music lovers were also delighted with such songs: “Scarlet Roses”, “May Dawns”, “Snowstorm”.
In a short period of time, the musical group has acquired a huge army of fans. In early 1991, the Sweet Dream group went on tour. The musicians played at the venues of major Russian cities. Since that time, the tour has not stopped.
To finally conquer the representatives of the weaker sex, the group presented the album "Barefoot Girl". This collection is specially designed for female fans. Vasyuta noted in an interview:
“I note that before the release of the album “Barefoot Girl”, the popularity of the group “Tender May” began to fade. "Sweet Dream" occupied a liberating niche. We were able to win the hearts of our fans.”
Oleg Khromov, who left the Sweet Dream group, began to develop himself as a solo artist.
In 1991, the album "Sweet Dream Group, soloist Oleg Khromov" went on sale. Oleg Khromov tried to repeat the group's success.
Until now, the authorship of the musical compositions “On a White Veil” and “February Night” has not been established. Khromov in his interviews said that he was the author of immortal hits. However, Vasyuta is the author on the group's official website.
However, the real scandal was ahead. Maslov, who created the “clone” of the Sweet Dream group, “got” a lot of money. After Vasyuta found out about the double of the musical group, he sued the singer and won the case. The court noted that it was Vasyuta who was the owner of the Sweet Dream trademark.
Sergei Vasyuta, after litigation, seriously took up the "promotion" of the group. Soon, from under his light hand, the albums "Little Miracle" and "White Dance" appeared.
The tour schedule of the guys was scheduled for a year in advance. The group traveled to almost all corners of the Russian Federation. In addition, the group was a welcome guest for foreign music lovers.
Once the Russian team was lucky enough to perform on the same stage with Bosson and the disco group Bad Boys Blue. From that moment on, Vasyuta became a frequent guest of such various television programs as: "Soundtrack", "50 x 50", "Star Rain".
Over time, the popularity of the musical group "Sweet Dream" began to decrease. First of all, this is due to the crisis with the leader of the group, Vasyuta.
For some time, Sergei lived in Germany, where he performed, and later published the collection Concert in Germany.
Despite the difficulties, the team pulled themselves together and continued to delight fans with songs. In the early 2000s, Sergei had to use the services of a "clone" of the Sweet Dream group, since the main line-up could not cope with the busy tour schedule.
In 2000, fans of the group's work were able to enjoy the group's new album. The collection includes old compositions: “A Little Miracle”, “You Flew Away”, “Girl”.
A little later, the group's discography was replenished with collections: "You flew away", The Best and The Best of USSR. The Sweet Dream group and Sergey Vasyuta were frequent guests at discos in the 1990s. In addition, the musicians continued to tour.
The popularity of the group "Sweet Dream" is associated with the presence of a significant number of lyrical compositions. The main part of the fans are representatives of the weaker sex.
The composition "On the White Blanket of January" is the hallmark of the band. Today, this musical composition is covered, cover versions and remixes are created for it. The track has not lost its relevance in 2020.
Sweet dream group today
The Sweet Dream group continues to perform for those fans who continue to "live" their songs. Basically, the musicians tour the territory of the CIS countries.
In 2017, the Olimpiysky Sports Complex hosted the Legends of Retro FM music festival. The best tracks of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s rumbled on stage.

The retro singer began 2018 with participation in Planet KVN. The groups "Sweet Dream", "Tender May", "Ladybug" and "Gone with the Wind" worked together to create a humorous number.
In 2018, on Valentine's Day, the Sweet Dream group presented the track "My Love".
In 2019, the band's repertoire was replenished with old and new songs: "And Love is Right", "Black Thunderstorm", "Scarlet Roses", "Sunny May", "Little Miracle".
In 2020, the group held a number of concerts in other countries, in particular, the next performance will take place in February in Germany.
