Childhood and youth Tanita Tikaram
The future star was born on August 12, 196 in the town of Münster, located in North Rhine-Westphalia. The girl's mother was a Malaysian, and her father was an Indian-Fijian military man.
For a long time, Tanita lived in Germany with her parents, and then went to England and settled in neighboring Southampton, a town located in Hampshire.
Here, the girl began to go to school with her brother, but immediately faced pressure and hostility from other children. And the reason for this was the appearance of the guys, who had little resemblance to ordinary British. Often it even came to racism.
There was also little fun at home. After all, parents constantly disappeared at work and could not give the children the necessary attention. Therefore, Tanita was a closed child.

The singer signed her first contract with Warner Records in 1988, and soon released her first record Ancient Heart.
Unexpectedly for many, the tracks contained in it became very popular, they began to sound on all radio stations, as well as at discos in nightclubs.

Tanita decided to leave the stage. For a long time she did not appear in public, and only in 2005 she again presented her own album Sentimental to the public.
There was no overwhelming success, but she still found fans, and this led to the creation of another record, released in 2012. After that, Tanita Tikaram gave concerts, and one of them in 2013 took place in the Moscow concert hall Crocus City Hall.
