However, the recognition of the girls played a cruel joke on them. The lion's share of fans of the work of the Russian group, after a frank confession, stopped watching the work of the Tatu group.

In 2008, Julia and Lena left work on their third album and went to a rally in support of sexual minorities. There, the girls informed the "fans" that soon each of them would go on a solo "swimming".

But the girls still did not keep their word. In 2009, the third album of the Russian band Waste Management was released. Immediately after the release of the third disc, Yulia Volkova left the band and announced to the "fans" that she would now pursue a solo career. Lena Katina continued to remain in the group.

After some time, Lena Katina appeared on stage alone. She performed the favorite musical compositions of the "fans" of the group. Julia pursued a solo career. They very rarely joined together. However, they managed to record a track with Mike Tompkins and Legalize "Love in every moment". And they made a video for it.

In 2013, fans saw the girls together again. The girls sang at the opening of the Olympics in Sochi. Many then said that Julia and Lena would unite again. However, these were just rumors. Katina stated that they are not going to unite.

Tatu group now

At the moment, the soloists of the Tatu group are engaged exclusively in a solo career. They only come together on occasion. A huge surprise for the "fans" was the track Follow Me.

In 2018, the Russian group turned 19 years old. Former soloists of the musical group presented to the fans previously written, but not published demo versions. It was a real gift for fans of girls' creativity.
