The Chainsmokers formed in New York in 2012. The team consists of two people acting as lyricists and DJs.

History of The Chainsmokers
Alex and Andrew formed the band in 2012. Alex was born on May 16, 1985 in New York to a wealthy family in which his father worked in the arts and his mother was a housewife.
Andrew was born December 31, 1989 in the town of Freeport. His parents are descendants of Irish and French colonists. Taggart's mother works as a teacher, and his father implements makeup.
After Andrew traveled to Argentina at the age of 15, he became interested in electronic music. Then for the first time he heard the works of David Guetta. In addition, on that trip, he heard the duet Duft Punk. Alex has been DJing since childhood. Taggart subsequently graduated from Syracuse University and trained at Interscope Records. At the same time, he released several records on the Sound Cloud site.
At this point, Paul had already begun to develop in a musical direction. His partner was Rhett Bixler, with whom the duo The Chainsmokers was originally created.
At the same time, Adam Alpert began to manage the team. Nevertheless, this cooperation did not become productive. Subsequently, Andrew learned about Alex's desire to form an EDM duo.
The musician, who was still starting his journey, ended up in New York. There he met Alex Paul to start a career together. The trip was productive, as a result of which the story of the updated duo The Chainsmokers began. At first, young people released remixes for little-known bands.
First joint steps
Musicians from both the United States and other countries collaborated with the new group. The first person who showed interest in working together was a well-known model.
The group participated in the recording of the song Erase. Two years later, the duo also interacted with the girl, after which the track The Rookie was released.
The idea of creating a group was very successful. The duo released compositions in a variety of genres, developing a unique combination of all kinds of directions. In an interview, the musicians stated that when creating music, they paid attention to the work of Pharrell Williams and DJ Deadmau5.
The Chainsmokers first appeared on stage in 2014. Then they presented their music to the audience during the “warm-up” before the concert of the Time Flies band.
At the same time, Changesmokers released the song Selfie, which received immediate attention from the public. Subsequently, the song was re-released, and the group began an active collaboration with the recording studio Republic Records.

In the summer of 2014, the release of the Kanye song was announced. The track was created during a collaboration with musician SirenXX. A few months later, the next track was released, which was also worked on by musicians not only from The Chainsmokers, but also from the GGFO team.
A year later, Adam, who is the group's producer, announced a collaboration with Disruptor Records. Notable is the fact that the company is part of Sony's music division.
The band then released their first EP, which was named Bouquet. Fans of the team were able to see him only in the fall. Then the performers released several more compositions recorded during collaboration with musicians from various countries.
The success and popularity of the Changesmokers
Six months later, The Chainsmokers took part in the Ultra Music Festival of electronic music. At the same time, listeners who had not heard the work of the group could get acquainted with their work.
In addition, DJs openly expressed their opinion against the nomination of Donald Trump for president, which became a "push" to gain even more popularity.
In the fall of 2016, the group released the song All We Know. At the same time, the duet was recognized as 18 out of 100 in the list of the most successful DJs (according to a well-known thematic publication).
Within two years, the Chainsmokers team was able to climb 77 positions on this list, which was an indicator of gaining popularity and productivity of the musicians.
In the same year, the collection of performers was replenished with another minion, who gained incredible fame. It subsequently racked up 270 million streams on a major music platform.
As a result, this became the impetus for recording a full-length album. Previously, such a decision did not seem appropriate to the musicians, but now The Chainsmokers have ventured into recording.
Debut album by the Changesmokers
Full-length edition Album Memories… Don't Open came true in 2017. A concert tour was organized to promote the record. A total of 40 performances were organized in various cities in the northern United States.
Moreover, one of the fans of the team joined the team. This move was made as a thank you for releasing a great cover of the latest released EP. Several other well-known performers also participated in the tour.
Changesmokers today
The musicians released their second album Sick Boy a year later. The last work of World War Joy was released at the end of 2019, which included 10 tracks. The tracks were made available to the public one by one throughout the year.
