Katie White has worked in several musical groups. At the start of her creative career, she was a member of TKO. This young trio was the opening act for the likes of Five and Steps. The members of the young team included artists such as Emma Lelli and Joanne Leaton. But since they had no contracts, they soon broke up.

Jules started his musical career at Babakoto. This team was marked by only one single. In 1987 the group broke up. Martina becomes a member of Mojo Pin. But even here only 2 tracks were released.

Before the disappearance of the TKO collective, White met Martino. Together with Simon Templeman they form the trio Dear Eskiimo. This time they managed to sign an agreement with Mercury Records. Soon the recording studio changed management. This led to disagreements with the young trio. 

As a result, the team broke up. Kathy went to work as a bartender. Jules De Martino continued his creative career. He became the author of many songs that were performed by famous performers.

The creation of the duet The Ting Tings and the first singles

The children were able to reconsider the features of their creativity. They tried to open up on their own. This endeavor proved to be successful. After the recording of "It's Not My name" by Great DJ, the first recognition appears. They were invited to perform at The Engine House private parties. 

Gradually they became permanent artists of The Mill. In addition, they appear on the air for XFM. The second single "Fruit Machine" becomes a real hit. The popularity has led to the fact that the track gets into the rotation of BBC 6 Music.

Despite the fact that the hit was released in a limited edition, it still brings fame to the duet. This led to them being invited to his studio by Mark Riley. Immediately after this, the duo goes on a small tour. The guys perform in their native village. In addition, they are met by the scenes of New York and Berlin.

Right after the recent events, they are touring with Reverend and the Makers. They performed at educational institutions in the UK. After a successful tour on the English stages, Columbia Records signed an agreement with the band. They began to be invited to television. In particular, at the end of 2007 they take part in the television show Later with Jools Holland.

Rise to fame

The beginning of 2008 was very successful for the duo. At the beginning of the year, they are on the third line of the rating of the best young music groups according to the Sound edition. In addition, already in February they are invited to perform at the Shockwaves NME World Tour. Within a month, the duet was marked by a performance in the capital of England on the MTV Spanking New Music Tour.

The beginning of cooperation with the new studio was marked by the release of the track "Great DJ". This work was appreciated by NME specialists. The composition enters the TOP 40 UK Singles Chart. After 2 months, the album "We Started Nothing" is released. The debut was quite successful. 

The track "It's Not My Name" brings the band special popularity. It takes the debut album to the top of the UK Albums Chart. The team continues to work on creating new compositions. But by the end of 2009, the starter plate received an award from Ivor Novello. It is recognized as the best album.

It is worth noting that in May 2008 they worked as part of the New Music We Trust live concert, which was organized in Kentucky. This event was broadcast by BBC iPlayer. A month later, in July, the duet works in the London club KOKO. They offer their compositions as part of iTunes Live. 

At the end of a successful year, the guys appeared on Hootenanny. Already in the summer of 2009, the team became participants in the Glastonbury project. In addition, they perform as part of the Isle of Wight Festival.

Development of creative activity

The second disc was released in Paris. This despite the fact that the beginning of a creative career took place not only in the UK, but also in Berlin. By the end of 2010, the band released the famous composition "Hands". The work became the leader of the Billboard Dance Chart. Gradually, the guys move to work in Spain. There, the work of the band was influenced by the sound of the Spice Girls, Beastie Boys.

Gradually, the participants shoot videos on their tracks. In 2011, a video for the song "Hang It Up" was broadcast on YouTube. A month later, a video for the remix of the composition "Silence" is released. In early 2012, "Soul Killing" was recorded. But the video material was not available for viewing by the general public. At the same time, a new record, Sounds from Nowheresville, was released.

In early 2012 The Ting Tings moved to Ibiza. It was there that they set about creating their third album. After 2 years, a mix for Wrong Club appears. By the end of 2014, fans were offered the release of "Super Critical". In 2015, the duo was forced to take a short break. It is connected with the fact that Cathy fell ill. But already in 2018, the LP "The Black Light" appears.

Thus, the young team continues its work. They are working on new songs and albums. Gradually, commercials for the most famous tracks are released. Fans tend to attend all the live performances of the band.
