Creation of the group Three Days Grace and selection of the line-up

The history of the team began in the small Canadian town of Norwood, during the development of the underground. In 1992, five friends who studied at the same school united to form the Groundswell team.

A few years later, friends gathered again to continue making music. The new group was named Three Days Grace. The role of the frontman went to Gontier, who had to pick up the lead guitar as well.

Walst became the bassist, Sanderson the drummer. Producer Gavin Brown became interested in the new group, who saw future stars in talented newcomers.

Creativity of fellow musicians

Members of the young group worked hard and by 2003 were able to prepare the first album. The critics were not particularly enthusiastic about this, but they reacted quite favorably to the result.

The album's lead song, I Hate Everything About You, was played on all rock radio stations.

On tour, at first, the spoiled audience did not very warmly accept the newcomers in this musical direction, but the guys' perseverance helped "break through this reservation."

Numerous concert performances began, and discerning listeners were able to appreciate the newcomers.

After some time, two more works came out: Home and Just Like You. Within a year, the disc reached the platinum level.

Soon, Barry Stock, a new guitarist, entered the band, and the team was finally formed. In this composition, the group lasted for a long time.

Three Days Grace in cinema

In addition to successful concert activities, the Three Days Grace group also worked in the cinema - their songs sounded in the films Superstar and Werewolves.

Some time after the next tour, problems arose with the lead singer of the group Adam Gontier - he needed treatment in a drug treatment clinic.

Surprisingly, the talented musician continued to work within the walls of the medical institution, preparing material for the next album. The disc, released a year later, was called One-X and surprised the audience with its sincerity.

Group conflict

In 2013, a conflict arose among the musicians. Adam Gontier increasingly disagreed with the direction the band was taking. He believed that individuality was lost in their work.

As a result, the soloist and one of the founders of the group left her, saying that he needed to take care of his health. Many Three Days Grace fans thought Gontier was right about the band's music.

In order not to cancel the scheduled concerts, the producers did not begin to resolve the conflict, but quickly found a replacement for Gontier. The talented vocalist was replaced by the brother of the band's bassist Matt Walst.

Subsequently, many critics and fans of the band noted that the change of frontman had a significant impact on the nature of the songs. Many listeners were disappointed.

The process of fitting Matt Walst to the characteristics of the group began. As a result, according to critics and fans, there was an impression that this group was rebuilt for a new soloist.

In the album released in 2015, Three Days Grace surprised everyone with an abundance of electronic music and too simple lyrics.

The opinions of the fans were divided. Someone believed that with the departure of Gontier, the team lost its individuality, and someone saw the novelty that Walst brought.
