Childhood and youth of Thomas Anders
Thomas Anders was born in Münstermaifeld. The boy's parents had nothing to do with creativity. Mother was an entrepreneur. It contained cafes and small shops. Thomas' father was a financier by education. Naturally, the father and mother did not see their son on stage. They dreamed that he would follow in their footsteps.
Berndhart Weidung is Thomas' real name. He was born back in 1963. Looking ahead, it can be noted that the artist's passport contains not only the real name Berndhart Weidung, but also the creative pseudonym Tom Anders.
Like all children, Berndhart Weidung attended a comprehensive school. But in parallel, the boy studied at a music school. During the period of study, he mastered playing the piano and guitar.
While studying at school, he participated in performances and productions. It is also known that he was a member of the church choir. After leaving school, he studied German studies (German language and literature) and musicology in Mainz.
The young guy was attracted by music. He liked to listen to the classics and music of foreign performers. When it came time to decide who Thomas wants to be, he replied, "I can't imagine my life without music." The beginning of his musical career came with participation in the Radio Luxembourg music competition.
It must be admitted that Thomas had all the makings to conquer the top of the musical Olympus - a trained voice and a beautiful appearance. And although the parents of the future star were not enthusiastic about their son's hobbies, they provided proper support. Having become a world-class star, Anders will more than once remember at press conferences about the help and support of the family.
The beginning of the musical career of Thomas Anders
So, in 1979, Bernd became a laureate of the prestigious Radio Luxembourg competition. Actually, this was the beginning of the musical career of a young man. In 1980, the singer's first single appeared, called "Judy". According to the recommendations of the producers, Bernd had to choose a sonorous creative pseudonym.
The stage name Bernd chose together with his own brother. The guys just took out a telephone directory, and the surname Anders was the first on this list, and the brothers considered the name Thomas international, so they decided to opt for this option.
A year has passed when an unknown performer received an invitation to take part in the Michael Schanz show. In 1983, a meeting with musician Dieter Bohlen took place. The guys started working together. It took them a long time to understand each other. A year later, a new star was born in the music world, and she was given the name "Modern Talking".

The group's first album was called The First Album. The main composition of the debut album was the song "You're My Heart, You're My Soul". The track was able to hold a leading position in various music charts for 6 months. This song can still be heard at concerts. The first album sold 40 copies.
The first album was a real shot. The Modern Talking group did not compete in popularity with any group of those times. The musical group has repeatedly become winners and laureates of international music awards.
Thomas Anders has become a real sex symbol. With an attractive appearance and a slender figure, Thomas receives proposals from a million caring fans.
Modern Talking signed their first serious contract 3 years after the formation of the musical group. During this time, the performers have released as many as 6 new records. Recognition from fans and music critics received works: "The First Album", "Let's Talk About Love", "Ready for Romance", "In the Middle of Nowhere".
The big surprise for the fans was the information that in 1987 the performers announced that the Modern Talking team was ceasing to exist. Each of the singers began to pursue a solo career, but neither Thomas nor Dieter managed to repeat the success of the Modern Talking group.
And again "Modern Talking"
Due to the fact that the guys did not manage to build a career individually, in 1998 Dieter and Thomas announced to their fans that Modern Talking was back in business. Music critics note that now "Modern Talking" sounds a little different. The musical style of the group has changed to techno and eurodance.
The first album "Modern Talking" after a long break was called "Back For Good". In it, music lovers can listen to dance tracks and remixes of their previous hits.
The album was very warmly received by the old fans of Modern Talking. Judging by the number of sales of this album, music lovers were pleased with the resumption of the creative union of performers.
A year after the release of the record, the duo received an award at the Monte Carlo Music Festival in the nomination "The best-selling German group in the world." Even after the lull, interest in the duet did not disappear, but, on the contrary, increased significantly.
The performers worked tirelessly. In the period up to 2003, the duo released 4 albums - "Alone", "Year of the Dragon", "America", "Victory and Universe". To dilute the musical group and the sound of the tracks, the guys invite a third member. They become rapper Eric Singleton.
But as it turned out later, it was a very hasty decision. Fans did not perceive Eric as a performer and member of a musical group. Over time, Eric leaves the groups, but the Modern Talking rating has not recovered. In 2003, the guys report that the group has again ended its existence.
Solo career of Thomas Anders
Work in the group "Modern Talking" had a positive impact on the solo work of Thomas Anders. Firstly, the performer already had invaluable experience. And secondly, an impressive number of fans.
After the musical group broke up, Thomas and his wife moved to the United States of America. For 10 years of his solo career, the singer recorded 6 albums:

- Whispers;
- "Down On Sunset";
- "When Will I See You Again";
- Barcos de Cristal;
- Souled.
In addition to the fact that Thomas is actively pumping himself as a solo singer, he manages to act in films. Pictures with Anders' participation are called "Stockholm Marathon" and "Phantom Pain". And it must be admitted that acting skills cannot be taken away from him.
Working in the United States of America, Thomas is constantly experimenting. In his solo albums, you can hear notes of Latino, soul, lyrics and even blues.
After the second breakup of the group in 2003, Anders again sets off on a free voyage. Together with a large production center, the performer is recording the next album "This time". In support of the new album, the artist is touring major cities in the United States of America.
A huge surprise for Russian fans was the performance of Thomas Anders with the legendary band Scorpions on Red Square in Moscow. This performance was a pleasant shock for admirers of Anders and the rock band.
The second disc was called "Songs Forever". The performer takes his compositions of the 80s as a basis and, together with the symphony orchestra, performs them in a new way. In the same year, a disc from the DVD Collection series was released, where Thomas shares facts from his biography with fans.
Especially for Russian fans, the singer records the album "Strong", which he will present in 2009. The album goes double platinum. Thomas himself took second place in the list of favorite pop artists of Russians.
In support of the new album, the singer goes on a big tour around the cities of the Russian Federation. In 2012, the singer publishes the collection "Christmas for You".

In 2016, the singer presented the album "History", which included hits from past years. A year later, the performer officially presented the album "Pures Leben", all the songs of which were performed in German.
In 2019, Thomas is engaged in concert activities and spends a lot of time with his family. Nothing is known about the new album yet.
At the end of March 2021, the presentation of the singer's new LP took place. The collection was called Cosmic. The record was topped by 12 tracks recorded in English.
