The artist's mother was a chemist, her father was an engineer. Both worked at the ship repair factory in the village of Vyuzhny, the pride of the domestic defense industry. It was in this village on the coast of the Kola Peninsula that the singer spent her childhood.
The real name of the artist is Elena Vladimirovna Khruleva. The stage name Vaenga was invented by the girl's mother after the name of the river flowing near Severomorsk.
Lena was not the only child of her parents. She also has a younger sister, Tatyana, who is now working in St. Petersburg as an international journalist.
From childhood, the baby was discovered to have a talent for music. At the age of 1, little Lenochka danced under a vacuum cleaner, and at the age of 9 she wrote her first song “Doves”. But the girl refused, deciding to enter the theater academy in the northern capital of Russia. The decision was spontaneous. Elena admitted that she knew nothing about stage art and acting.
She managed to get around more than a dozen applicants thanks to her charisma, striking appearance, perseverance, boundless faith in her own strengths and the desire to win.
Sudden move to the capital
However, she failed to complete her studies. The student studied at the course of G. Trostyanetsky for only 2 months. Then the talented girl was invited to the capital to record a solo album by the famous producer S. Razin and composer Y. Chernyavsky.
Vaenga could not refuse such a tempting offer. However, cooperation did not work out. The album was recorded but not released.
Elena reluctantly recalls this period of her life. She only says that she managed to learn a good, but bitter lesson. Thanks to which, perhaps, it turned out to break into the big show business.
The girl returned to St. Petersburg in 2000 and again entered the Department of Theater Arts, only now at the Baltic Institute of Ecology, Politics and Law.
She graduated from the course of P. Velyaminov with a red diploma in the profession "Dramatic Art". But the soul demanded its own. And the young graduate decided to take up music seriously.
Professional activity: career of Elena Vaenga
Her common-law husband Ivan Matvienko helped Elena radically change her life. It was he who supported the artist in a difficult period of life and directed her to further development.
Elena's songs began to be broadcast on the radio "Russian chanson". And in 2003 the first solo album "Portrait" was released.
Sensual manner of performance, unique voice and natural artistry did their job. The talented singer was noticed. The ascent to the Olympus of show business began in 2005.
