Vengaboys is a band from the Netherlands. The musicians have been creating since the beginning of 1997. There were times when the Vengaboys put the band on hiatus. At this time, the musicians did not give concerts and did not replenish the discography with new albums.
The history of the creation and composition of the Vengaboys group
The history of the creation of the Dutch group originates in the late 1990s. Then two comrades Wesselvan Diepen and Dennis van den Driesschen, who had achieved considerable popularity in the field of creating illegal beach parties, ended up in a recording studio. They wanted to record tracks and hired experienced vocalists for this.
The musicians decided to give young singer Kim Sasabone a chance. Later, Denise Post-Van Rijswijk joined the line-up. As well as new members: Robin Pors and Royden Burger. While working on their debut album, the guys came up with a stage name that eventually became known to dance lovers all over the planet - Vengaboys.
As with any band, the line-up changed from time to time. For example, Robin left the team two years after the creation of the team. He decided to build a solo career, but in the end he ended up in the Vengaboys anyway. While Robin was away, he was replaced by Yorick Bakker.
In the early 2000s, there was information in the press that the group was ending its activities. The musicians confirmed the information that this is a temporary phenomenon. In 2006 they were back on stage with Donny Latupeirissa instead of musician Roy.
Creative way and music of the group
In 1998, the discography of the new band was replenished with the first album. We are talking about a record called Up & Down - The Party Album. The work caused a real delight among music lovers. 14 tracks were played in European discos, which brought the band to a new level of popularity.
A year later, the musicians presented their second studio album to the public. The Party Album was warmly received by the public. The Vengaboys group was at the top of the musical Olympus.
In the 2000s, the musicians released another longplay for fans, which turned out to be "platinum". We are talking about a collection with the symbolic name The Platinum Album.
On the wave of popularity, the guys released the single Forever as One in the hope of repeating the success. However, the composition was received coolly by the public.
Then it became known about the departure of two members of the team. The leaders of the group tried to replace the musicians, but in the end it was announced the dissolution of the Vengaboys group.
In 2006, the Vengaboys reappeared on the scene. The musicians went on a long tour. They recorded cover versions and interesting remixes. But the biggest surprise was the presentation of the Xmas Party Album.
“I think that so many music lovers listen to our songs for only one reason - they evoke positive emotions and improve mood. There is so much negativity in the modern world, so when people come to our performances, they forget about their problems at least for a while, ”Robin said in an interview.
The Vengaboys are currently
Not so long ago, the musicians decided to collect legendary compositions in one EP. The stars commented:
“Once, at one of the performances, our fans asked us to perform some encore hits. We had to comply with this request several times in a row. The musicians and I decided to surprise the audience with acoustic versions right on stage. This idea was warmly received by the audience. Later we recorded several versions of the songs - some were recorded right in the dressing room, others - in the hotel.
In honor of the 20th anniversary, the group went on tour. The musicians planned to tour from 2019 to 2020. inclusive. They did not manage to realize all the plans, since some of the concerts were canceled or rescheduled for another date. The group's plans were disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic and quarantine restrictions.
