Vladimir Ivasyuk: Childhood and youth

The composer's date of birth is March 4, 1949. The future composer was born on the territory of the town of Kitsman (Chernivtsi region). He was brought up in an intelligent family. The head of the family was a historian and writer, and his mother worked as a teacher.

His parents all their lives stood up for Ukrainian culture and especially the Ukrainian language. They did their best to instill a love for everything Ukrainian in their children.

From the middle of the 50s of the last century, Vladimir studied at a music school. In 1956-1966 he attended the local high school of his native town. He pleased his parents with good marks in his diary.

I should pay tribute to Ivasyuk's mom and dad - they did everything to ensure that Vladimir grew up as an inquisitive and intellectual young man.

In the 61st year of the last century, he entered the musical decade. N. Lysenko of the city of Kyiv. Vladimir studied at the institution for a very short time. A protracted illness forced the talented guy to return to his hometown.

Vladimir Ivasyuk: Creative way

In the mid-60s, he composed his debut work, which was called "Lullaby".

He wrote the musical accompaniment to his father's poem.

Even during his school years, a gifted young man created the VIA "Bukovinka". In the 65th year, the members of the team appeared at the prestigious republican competition, and for the first time were awarded an honorary award.

A year later, Vladimir, together with his family, moved to Chernivtsi. Ivasyuk entered the local medical university, but a year later he was expelled due to a "political incident."

After some time, he got a job at a local factory. There he assembled a choir, which included performers who were not indifferent to Ukrainian music. His team performed under the creative pseudonym "Spring". At one of the regional competitions, the artists presented to the audience and judges the musical work “They Cranes” and “Koliskova for Oksana”.

The performance of the musical work “The Cranes Have Seen” was finally awarded the first prize. Vladimir's reputation was restored. This contributed to the fact that he was reinstated to the medical university.

Presentation of the compositions "Chervona Ruta" and "Vodogray"

In the early 70s, the premiere of, perhaps, the most popular compositions, which belong to the authorship of Ivasyuk, took place. We are talking about the musical works "Chervona Ruta" and "Vodogray".

The presented songs were first performed by Ivasyuk in a duet with Elena Kuznetsova on one of the Ukrainian TV shows, in September 1970. But, the songs gained popularity after they were performed by the Smerichka band.

A year later, the Ukrainian director R. Oleksiv shot the musical film "Chervona Ruta" in the town of Yaremcha. The film is interesting primarily because it contains many songs by Ivasyuk.

Approximately in the same period of time, the premiere of the musical composition "The Ballad of Two Violins" took place on one of the Ukrainian TV channels. Ivasyuk was the author of the song, and S. Rotaru was responsible for the performance of the work.

In the 73rd year, he received a diploma from a medical university. Then he entered graduate school with Professor T. Mitina. A year later, as part of the Soviet delegation, he visited the Sopot-74 festival. It should be noted that at this festival Sofia Rotaru presented the composition “Vodogray” to the public and won first place.

Volodymyr Ivasyuk: Maestro's dream

A year later, the cherished dream of Volodymyr Ivasyuk came true - he entered the Lviv Conservatory at the Faculty of Composition. In the same year, the maestro composes a number of musical accompaniments for the musical The Standard Bearers. Ivasyuk's works were highly appreciated not only by fans, but also by music critics.

In the mid-70s, filming of the film "The Song is Always with Us" took place on the territory of Western Ukraine. The film sounded six compositions that belonged to the authorship of Ivasyuk.

A busy work schedule took away from him the opportunity to attend the conservatory. A year after admission, Vladimir was expelled from the educational institution for missing classes. But, they say that the true reason for the expulsion is Ivasyuk's "wrong" political beliefs.

In the 76th year of the last century, he is working on the musical component of the musical "Mesozoic History". A year later, he managed to recover at the conservatory. At the same time, the presentation of the LP "Sofia Rotaru sings the songs of Vladimir Ivasyuk" took place. In the wake of increased interest in his person, Ivasyuk publishes his own collection of musical works, which was called "My Song".

Details of the composer's personal life

Vladimir Ivasyuk enjoyed the interest of the fairer sex. The love of his life was an opera singer named Tatyana Zhukova. Before this woman, he had a relationship that did not end in anything serious.

He spent five whole years with Tatyana, but neither friends nor relatives of Vladimir prefer to remember her. According to Zhukova, in 1976 Ivasyuk himself invited her to play a wedding. She agreed. But after that, Vladimir simply cut off all talk of marriage.

Once Vladimir's father had a serious talk with his son. He asked him never to marry Tatyana. How the composer's father argued such a request is a mystery. Rumor has it that Ivasyuk Sr. was embarrassed by Tatyana's Russian roots. Vladimir promised to fulfill the request of the pope.

“We sat on the couch and both cried. Vladimir confessed his love to me and said that in spite of everything we are obliged to get married. He was depressed. I knew this. He often composed at night. I could not sleep for days and eat nothing ... ”, Tatyana said.

After Ivasyuk's conversation with his father, the couple's relationship deteriorated. They often quarreled and dispersed, and then reconciled again. The last meeting of lovers took place on April 24, 1979.

Interesting facts about Vladimir Ivasyuk

  • Ivasyuk refused to compose a work for the celebration of the 325th anniversary of the Pereyaslav Agreement.
  • He was posthumously awarded the Taras Shevchenko State Prize of Ukraine.
  • A couple of months before the death of the composer, he was summoned for interrogation by the KGB.
  • Ivasyuk said that the muse comes to him at night. Perhaps that is why he preferred to compose at night.

Death of Volodymyr Ivasyuk

On April 24, 1979, after talking on the phone, Ivasyuk left the apartment and never returned. In mid-May, the composer's body was found hanged in the woods. It became known that the maestro committed suicide.

Many did not believe that Ivasyuk could voluntarily die. Many pointed out that KGB officers could be involved in his "suicide". He was buried on May 22 on the territory of Lviv.

The funeral ceremony of Ivasyuk turned into a whole action against the Soviet regime.

In 2009, the criminal case on the death of Ivasyuk was reopened, but three years later it was closed again due to lack of evidence and corpus delicti. In 2015, things picked up again. A year later, investigators stated that Ivasyuk did not commit the murder, but was killed by KGB officers.
