Wolfheart (Wolfhart): Biography of the group

After disbanding his many projects in 2012, Finnish singer/guitarist Tuomas Saukkonen decided to dedicate himself full-time to a new project called Wolfheart.

At first it was a solo project, and then it turned into a full-fledged group.

The creative path of the group Wolfheart

In 2012, Tuomas Saukkonen shocked everyone when he announced that he had closed his musical projects in order to start over. Saukkonen has recorded and released tracks for the Wolfheart project, playing all the instruments and doing the vocals himself.

In an interview with the Finnish music publication Kaaos Zine, when asked about the reasons for this change, Tuomas replied:

“At some point, I realized that I was just keeping the bands alive, and not bringing something new to them. I lost my passion for music which is the main reason why I had a lot of side projects like Black Sun Aeon, Routa Sielu, Dawn Of Solace. These were the bands where I had the ability to be artistically free and create what I wanted. Now that I've completed all the projects and created one new one, I've started building everything from scratch, which I'm very happy about. I have rediscovered my love for music.”

Tuomas Saukkonen decided to combine the musical elements of his previous bands and start re-creating music after 14 years in the music industry.

A year later, the group consisted of three members, such as: Lauri Silvonen (bassist), Junas Kauppinen (drummer) and Mike Lammassaari (project founder, guitarist).

The cold and beauty of winter became the inspiration where the music originated. This is definitely a triumph in Wolfheart's career and one of the biggest battles won in our career. The result exceeded all our expectations, we are in the first places in the lists of many charts. This is one of our biggest wins."
