By the age of 18, she began to sing. At first, the repertoire included only songs of foreign groups. But in her 20s, in 1996, Aylin was invited to be the vocalist in a local rock band called Zeytin. With this team, she performed at the Kemancı club in Istanbul, while teaching English at the same time.

However, a year and a half later, the singer leaves the Zeytin group due to the desire to perform other genres of music. In 1998 and 1999 she participates in the Roxy Müzik Günleri competition for emerging musicians. First, Aylin takes second place, and then receives a special award from the jury. Around the same time, she founded her first electronic music group, Süpersonik.

First album and creative stagnation

The singer began composing her own songs even before collecting Süpersonik. Moreover, already in 1997 she finished work on her first album. However, the companies did not want to take risks and immediately take it to the record - the sound was too unusual.

So it was released only in 2000 under the name "Gelgit". It was Turkey's first electro-pop album and sold rather poorly. Such music in Aylin's homeland was underground. The failure greatly crippled the spirit of the singer and forced her to quit writing her own music for five years.

Until 2005, the performer was engaged in a variety of projects. At first she worked as an organizer and music editor. Organizing many performances and festivals. Aylin often participated in them herself. She even opened the Placebo concert.

In 2003, the singer participated in the recording of the anti-war single "Savaşa Hiç Gerek Yok". Together with her, Vega, Bulutsuzluk Özlemi, Athena, Feridun Duzagach, Mor ve Ötesi, Koray Candemir and Bulent Ortachgil participated in this project. In the same year, her song "Senin Gibi" was performed by the Greek pop singer Teresa.

Most often she is involved in the fight against domestic violence. This is what the song "Güldünya" was dedicated to. Because of this, the track was banned in some countries. In addition, Aylin likes to make a fuss in the media, drawing people's attention to important issues.

The songs in it tell about the problem of the oppression of women in relationships, violence and other acute social topics. The sound was close to the genre of indie rock, alternative.
