The childhood and youth of the singer
The artist was born on August 9, 1973, according to the horoscope - Leo. As a child, Alexander suffered from anemia, but he successfully recovered. At the age of 6 he started boxing, in his youth he was a bully, often got into fights.
Around the same time, the boy became interested in music, but his parents had no money and could only provide him with a guitar. He quickly learned to play and often sang songs under the windows of his beloved.
Especially the guy loved and was proud of his author's song. The piano appeared in the future famous artist only at the age of 13.
He left boxing because of one fight where he missed a punch. Because of this, his eyesight worsened and only one hobby remained - music. After the 8th grade, the boy was taken to the Khmelnitsky Music School, then to the Lviv Conservatory for vocals.
At the school, the teachers were a little skeptical about Alexander, since he had not previously studied music professionally. But at the end of the year, everyone was surprised when he learned the entire program of the seven-year music school and showed knowledge on a level with other students.
Musical career as an artist
Life on stage began in 1993, when Alexander won the Chervona Ruta festival.
In 1995, the singer performed at a competition for young performers, where he took 2nd place, but he was clearly remembered by everyone, the jury also highly appreciated the musical talent of the guy.
In 1996, the first album "From early to night" was released. The songs were very relevant to the youth and Alexander became very popular. About 10 copies of the album were released, which made an incredible sensation in the country.
Immediately a year later, another album, "First and Last Love", was released.
As part of the nationwide program "Person of the Year" Alexander was named "Variety Star of the Year" (1997).
The singer re-received the title "Singer of the Year" at the "Tavria Games" festival and the "Prometheus Prestige" award. During the same year, the artist gave 134 concerts in 33 cities of Ukraine.
2000 and 2001 - release of two equally famous albums "He" and "She". They are not separated by gender, they are just names.
In 2003, Alexander Ponomarev became the Ukrainian artist who represented the country for the first time at the Eurovision Song Contest. Then he took 14th place. But still, this performance went down in the history of Ukraine as the debut of the country and is unlikely to be forgotten.
Three years later, the artist released a new album, "I love only you." As before, all the songs found their "fans", some are famous even to this day.
In the same year, Alexander received the title of People's Artist of Ukraine.
The album "Nichenkoyu" struck me with its rhythm and cheerful mood, since all the previous songs had a lyrical character.
Another reason to be proud is that in 2011 the artist was recognized as the best performer of the twentieth anniversary.
From 2011 to 2012 a new show "Voice of the Country" was released, where Alexander was the jury.
In 2019, the new song “Ti Taka Alone”, released on February 14, produced a high resonance.
He was always distinguished by perseverance and was very fond of his work, because of this, in the first years of his career, he already earned fame and recognition among the people.
In 2017, there was a break in his work due to conflicts between Russia and Ukraine. Since he had friends from both countries, he was very upset by the events, and he simply could not write anything.
Active participation of the singer in the political life of the country
When Alexander chose his favorite, he was not afraid to express his opinion to the whole country.
In 1999, he supported Leonid Kuchma, performed at concerts dedicated to him.
Actively participated in the Orange Revolution, spoke at the Maidan.
In 2010, he supported Yulia Tymoshenko during the presidential elections, but then she never won.
Personal life of Alexander Ponomarev
The artist lived in an unofficial marriage with Alena Mozgova for 10 years. In 1998, their daughter Evgenia was born.
Alexander maintained a warm relationship with his daughter, they can often be seen together.
In 2006, the singer entered into an official marriage with Victoria Martynyuk. A year later, the couple had a son, Alexander. In 2011, the marriage broke up. In one of the episodes, Victoria, in an interview on the 1 + 1 TV channel, said that she did not hold a grudge against her ex-husband.
And although the reason for the divorce was betrayal on the part of Alexander, she is happy for the invaluable experience in her life, as well as for the beloved child he left her. She has a new chosen one and her own business.
In 2017, the singer announced that he was in a relationship with Maria Yaremchuk. The girl herself said that there was nothing between them and there never was.
