In the life of a Soviet pop artist named Alexander Tikhanovich, there were two strong passions - music and his wife Yadviga Poplavskaya. With her, he not only created a family. They sang together, composed songs and even organized their own theater, which eventually became a production center.
Childhood and youth
The hometown of Alexander Grigorievich Tikhonovich is Minsk. He was born in the capital of the Byelorussian SSR in 1952. From childhood, Alexander was distinguished by his interest in music and creativity, ignoring lessons in the exact sciences. While studying at the Suvorov Military School, cadet Tikhanovich became interested in classes in a brass band. It was from this orchestra that Alexander became seriously interested in music and could no longer imagine his future without it.
After graduating from the Suvorov Military School, the young man immediately applied to the conservatory (the Faculty of Wind Instruments). After receiving a higher musical education, Alexander Tikhanovich was drafted into the army.
Alexander Tikhanovich: The beginning of a successful career
When Alexander was demobilized, he was invited to perform in the Minsk ensemble. There he met Vasily Rainchik, the future head of the cult Belarusian group Verasy.
A few years later, the Minsk group, which played and popularized jazz, was closed. Alexander Tikhanovich began to look for a new musical group for himself.
The main hobbies of the young musician at that time were playing the trumpet and bass guitar. Alexander also began to try to perform vocal parts, which he did well.
Soon, a talented musician, at the invitation of Vasily Rainchik, got into the popular Belarusian VIA "Verasy". A colleague in the musical scene of Alexander was the future wife and faithful friend of Jadwiga Poplavskaya.
While working at Verasy, Tikhanovich was lucky to perform on the same stage with the legendary singer from the USA, Dean Reed. The American performer toured the USSR, and it was the team from Belarus that was entrusted to accompany him during his performances.
Tikhanovich and Poplavskaya worked at Verasy for a little over 15 years. During this period, it was they who became the hallmark and main performers of the famous team.
The most beloved compositions that the entire Soviet Union sang together with Veras: Zaviruha, Robin heard a voice, I live with my grandmother, and many others. But at the end of the 80s, an internal conflict occurred in the ensemble, so Alexander and Yadviga were forced to leave their favorite group.
Alexander and Yadviga - a personal and creative tandem
In 1988, Tikhanovich and Poplavskaya performed the song "Lucky Chance" at the then popular "Song-88" contest. The song itself and favorite talented performers made a splash. According to the results of the competition, they became the winners of the final.
The beautiful musical couple had previously enjoyed the sympathy of the audience, but after winning the competition, they gained truly all-Union popularity. Soon, Alexander and Yadviga began to perform as a duet, and then they recruited a group that they called "Lucky Chance". The team quickly became popular and in demand - they were often invited to perform in Canada, France, Israel and all the former republics of the USSR.
In addition to working in the group, Poplavskaya and Tikhanovich were able to organize and set up the work of the Song Theater, later renamed the production center. Tikhanovich, together with his wife and like-minded people, managed to bring many then-unknown performers from Belarus to the musical Olympus. In particular, Nikita Fominykh and the Lyapis Trubetskoy group.
In addition to music and support for young singers and composers, Alexander Grigorievich became interested in filming a movie. He has behind him small but interesting roles in 6 films. In 2009, Tikhanovich starred in a lyrical film about rural Belarusian residents "Apple of the Moon".
Personal life of the artist Alexander Tikhanovich
The marriage of Jadwiga and Alexander was registered in 1975. After 5 years, the couple had their only daughter, Anastasia. It is not at all surprising that the girl, surrounded by an atmosphere of music and creativity, also began to sing from childhood.
She started recording her own songs early and took part in many musical projects. Now Anastasia heads the production center of her parents. The woman has a son, in whom the grandfather saw the continuation of the Tikhanovich musical dynasty.
last years of life
Alexander Grigoryevich suffered for several years from a very rare autoimmune disease that cannot be cured. He did not advertise his illness, so fans and even many of his friends did not know about the singer's fatal diagnosis. At concerts and other public events, Tikhanovich tried to stay cheerful and at ease, so no one could have imagined that the fit and cheerful Alexander had serious health problems.
At one time, the singer began to drown out the difficulties with well-being with alcohol, but the support of his wife and daughter did not allow Alexander to sleep. All the money from the concert activities of Alexander and Jadwiga went to expensive medicines.
However, it was not possible to save Tikhanovich. He died in 2017 in the city hospital in Minsk. The death of the singer on social networks was reported by his daughter. Jadwiga at that time was far from Belarus - she had foreign tours. The famous singer was buried at the Eastern Cemetery in Minsk.
