Blue Pages, band name change

The band members met while studying at the Berklee College of Music. The quartet recorded songs in Boston for the first years.

In May 2010, the band went on tour. Then the musicians moved to Brooklyn to continue their activities. On December 1, 2010, the band, still under the old name, released the single Run Back Home on iTunes.

In 2012, the band's name was changed to American Autors. In January 2013, the band signed an agreement with the recording studio Mercury Records.

A year earlier, American Autos received the Overall Grand Prize at the 2014th Annual American Songwriters Competition for their song Believer. In addition, Billboard included the band in the list of new artists who made a splash in XNUMX.

From 2015 to 2016 the team was working on the creation of the second studio album What We Live For. On August 3, 2017, in support of their third album, Season, the band released the single I Wanna Go Out. In addition, on November 19 of the same year, the band presented the audience with the Christmas song Come Home to You.

On May 17, 2018, work on the third album was announced, which became available for streaming in early 2019. In total, during that period, the group released five compositions.

The American Authors toured North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The band has performed at several music festivals including: Lollapalooza, SXSW Music Festival, Firefly, Reading, Leeds, Bunbury, Freakfest and Grammys on the Hill.

At the moment, the American Authors team includes several performers. The band consists of vocalist Zach Barnett, who also plays guitar. Also guitarist James Adam Shelley. He also plays the banjo. Dave Rublin is on bass and Matt Sanchez is on drums. 

All musicians were born between 1982 and 1987. The composition of the group has not changed since its inception. At the same time, all the performers come from completely different regions of the United States - Barnett grew up in Minnesota, Shelley was born in Florida, Rablin was born in New Jersey, and Sanchez, who has Mexican roots, is from Texas.

Results of the work of the American Authors group

In total, American Authors released 3 studio albums. 6 mini-albums and 12 singles, 8 of which were aimed at promoting upcoming releases. Besides, in discography there are 19 music videos. 

During its activity, the team went on three tours. Also three support tours with OneRepublic, The Fray and The Revivalists. Despite the release of a significant amount of material under the name The Blue Pages, the group enjoyed great popularity after the renaming of the American Authors.

In addition, it is worth noting the joint tour with the OAR group, which took place in 2019. In 2020, the group has not yet been active. Given the current situation, the "fans" of the group will have to wait for new compositions only in 2021.
