Arabesque (Arabesque): Biography of the group

Surely, many residents of the republics that are part of the Soviet Union remember such female groups as ABBA or Boney M, Arabesque. Under their incendiary, legendary tracks, young people danced in discos.

Arabesque line-up

The group was formed in 1975 in the West German city of Frankfurt. However, the female trio was registered in 1977 in another city, in Offenbach. There was the studio of the composer and producer known as Frank Farian.

In 1975, on the initiative of one of the future members, Mary Ann Nagel, they formed a female trio. Producer Wolfgang Mewes was involved in the formation of the band. Two other girls for the group were selected on a competitive basis. Of the many options included Michaela Rose and Karen Tepperis. German, English and German with Mexican roots became the original line-up of the group. With this line-up, the group released the only song "Hello, Mr. Monkey".

Rotation in the Arabesque group

Mary Ann left the band due to daily moving. She was replaced by another girl, gymnast Jasmin Elizabeth Vetter. The new female trio released the album "Friday night".

The new line-up did not last long. Shortly after the release of the album, Heike Rimbeau joined the band to replace Karen, who became pregnant. With Heike, the band produced half of the new album, known in Germany as "City cats". The group's final line-up was formed after her departure.

In 1979, a new face appeared in the group, a promising singer with experience in the Young Star Music competition and a signed contract with a record company. A very young girl, Sandra Ann Lauer, almost immediately became a soloist in Arabesque.

The last composition of the female trio seemed to embody various races and types of appearance. Michaela was the epitome of sultry Latin American beauties. Memorable for her characteristic Asian slit of the eyes of Sandra and a typical blond European girl Jasmin.
