The beginning of the history of Blackberry Smoke

The American-born rock band Blackberry Smoke was formed in the early 2000s. Atlanta is considered to be the small homeland of the team.

Initially, the team consisted of four people: Charlie Starr (vocalist, guitarist), Paul Jackson (guitarist), Richard Turner (bass accompaniment) and Brit Turner (drummer). Subsequently, keyboardist Brandon Still joined the band.

The team was very popular. The musicians began major performances a few months after the group gathered and preparatory training.

The listeners fell in love with the group for its unique melody - it was real rock with hints of classics, blues, country and folk.

The guys have transformed classical musical trends, changing dogmas. As a result, unique albums were released - four records before the appearance of Brandon Steele and one more after.

After the creation of the group, a young, but very ambitious group, burning with the desire for open performances, went on tour. The musicians quickly developed an extensive fan base on the South Coast of the United States of America.

Worldwide fame

The band's first compilation album was released in 2003 through Walk Records. The record was called Bad Luck Ain't No Crime.

Live versions of the songs were recorded during the band's performance in the world's largest biker club. The Full Throtlle Saloon hosted the guys as part of organizing the annual South Dakota Rally.

The sound and processing of the songs was handled by professional vocalist and guitarist from the Cock of The Walk studio, Jesse James Dupree. He owned the music label. The album included bonus tracks, which were recorded in Atlanta (in the small homeland of the group).

On the wave of success, the Blackberry Smoke group began concerts and performances. And also participated in all major rock festivals in the country. By 2008, the band released the mini-album New Honky Tonk Bootlegs. And then came the second EP Little Piece of Dixie.

Both works were recorded at Big Karma Records. After releasing one full-length album and two mini-LPs, Blackberry Smoke has solidified its popularity. In addition to ordinary listeners, such famous artists as Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Zac Brown Band, George Jones and others joined the "fans" of the band.

5 years after the release of their debut album, Blackberry Smoke decided to repeat the success. In 2009, the second full-length album Little Piece of Dixie was released - the ideological successor to the eponymous mini-LP. Professionals were again responsible for the sound: this time the guys from Big Karma Record acted as techno-wizards.

Changing the Blackberry Smoke group vector

After the incredible success of the first two records, the musicians decided to change the paradigm of the development of the common project. The team signed an agreement with the major music label Southern Ground Records (owned by the notorious Zac Brown Band). After the changes (in the spring of 2011) the band compiled new musical content, not forgetting about regular concerts.
