The history of the Brothers Grim group dates back to 1998. It was then that the twin brothers, Kostya and Boris Burdaev, decided to acquaint music lovers with their work. True, then the brothers performed under the name "Magellan", but the name did not change the essence and quality of the songs.
The first concert of the twin brothers took place in 1998 at the local medical and technical lyceum.
Three years later, the guys arrived in Moscow, and there they continued their mission - the conquest of the musical Olympus. In Moscow, the Burdaevs presented the Bossanova Band project to music lovers.
The first fans were struck not by the repertoire of the performers, but by their appearance. The red-haired twins somehow magically drew attention to themselves.
This Russian show business has never seen. For many, the appearance of twins on stage seemed a curiosity, but this is the whole taste of the Brothers Grim group.
The creative career of the Brothers Grim group
The group gained its first popularity after meeting producer Leonid Burlakov. The Russian producer liked the work of the Burdaevs, so he offered to sign a contract with the brothers.
In 2004, the team finally entrenched in Moscow. After signing the contract, Leonid began work on the formation of a new composition.
In addition to Konstantin and Boris, the group was joined by drummer Denis Popov, as well as keyboardist Andrey Timonin.
A year later, the Brothers Grim group became participants in the MAXIDROM music festival. After the participation of the collective in the festival, the media began to write about the brothers.
Group albums
In 2005, the band presented their debut album "Brothers Grim". The composition "Eyelashes" appeared on the air of radio stations in the summer of 2005.
The track secured the status of a hit. For a long time, "Eyelashes" held the 1st position in the country's music charts. Another famous hit was the song "Kusturica".
In the same year, the Brothers Grim group established the E-volution grant for young and unknown musicians. In early autumn, young performers could post their compositions on the brothers' website.
Site visitors voted for their favorite work. In total, more than 600 participants took part in the competition. In the spring of 2006, the group presented a cash prize of $5 to the winner of the contest.
In 2006, the band's discography was replenished with the second studio album. We are talking about the disc "Illusion", the recording of which took place in New Zealand.
The collection was duly appreciated by music critics. And music lovers appreciated such songs as: "Breath", "Bee" and "Amsterdam".
In the same year, the brothers tried themselves as actors. True, they did not have to reincarnate, because they played themselves. Filming in the series "Don't Be Born Beautiful" only increased their popularity.
In 2007, the Brothers Grim group decided to go into free swimming. The conditions of the producer did not like the soloists of the team. In the same year, the band released their third and independent album, The Martians.
The following compositions got into the rotation of radio stations: “Fly”, “Sea off-season”, “In the morning”. It is interesting that the producer Vitaly Telezin recorded this album for the guys in Kyiv.
Changes in the team
In 2008, the first changes took place in the group. The band left guitarist Maxim Malitsky and keyboardist Andrey Timonin. Dmitry Kryuchkov became the new guitarist of the Brothers Grim group.
2009 was a year of surprises. This year, the brothers announced that the team was breaking up. The conflict between Boris and Konstantin has long been talked about in the yellow press, but no one thought that it would come to the point that the beloved team would cease to exist as a whole.
The message about the breakup of the group was published on the website of the Brothers Grim group solely on the initiative of Konstantin. The news that the group broke up, Boris himself learned not personally from his brother, but from the Internet.
After the collapse of the team, Kostya continued to work solo. Already on March 8, Konstantin's first solo concert took place, which took place on the territory of one of the local Moscow clubs.
From 2009 to March 2010 Konstantin Burdaev with an updated line-up performed under the name "Grim". Under the presented creative pseudonym, he presented the singles "Laos" and "Airplanes".
In 2009, Kostantin became a member of the tribute to the anniversary of the Time Machine collective, performing the song Candle in his variation.
Konstantin Grim and Katya Pletneva took part in the recording of the rock musical Heroin (project of the VIA Hagi-Trugger band). The presentation of the work took place in 2010 in the capital's club "Chinese Pilot Zhao Da".
Formation of a new squad
In 2010, Konstantin Grim told his fans that from now on he will again perform under the pseudonym "Brothers Grim". Boris did not return to the team, so Konstantin wanted to form a new team.
Already in the same year, the Brothers Grim group, in an updated line-up, replenished their discography with the fourth studio disc, Wings of Titan. The presentation of the collection took place in a Moscow nightclub. The fourth disc included 11 songs.
In the same year, Constantine faced one of the greatest personal tragedies of his life. His wife Lesya Khudyakova, who is known to the general public as Lesya Krieg, passed away. The girl died of heart failure at the age of 30.
Konstantin decided to leave the big stage for a while. He practically did not go out in public, even less often appeared in nightclubs.
Later, Konstantin admitted to reporters that he was depressed, from which he got out only thanks to a psychotherapist.
Solo career of Boris Burdaev
In 2011, it became known that Boris Burdaev was returning to the stage. The singer began performing under the pseudonym Lirrika.
Boris, together with his group, performed in the 16 tons club in the fall. Thus, the singer dispelled rumors about a possible reunion of the Brothers Grim team.
The return of Konstantin Burdaev to creativity
At the end of 2012, Konstantin Burdaev returned to creativity. He dismissed the old musicians and began to assemble a new line-up.
The fourth composition of the musical group consisted of:

- Dmitry Kondrev (bass guitar)
- Stas Tsaler (drums)
In the fall of 2013, the Brothers Grim released the song "The Most Favorite Music". The song hit the heart of music lovers. Until 2014, the track was played on almost all radio stations in Russia. The musicians also filmed a video clip for the song.
Later, Boris Burdaev officially announced that he intended to return to using the name "Brothers Grim". However, this approach was not appreciated by his twin brother Konstantin.
Boris did not have the right to use the name of the group, so since 2014 he performed under the name "Boris Grim and the Brothers Grim". The group's repertoire consisted of old hits of the Brothers Grim group, as well as newly released compositions.
In 2015, the collection "Brothers Grim" (Konstantina Burdaeva) was released on iTunes and Google Play, which was called "The Most Favorite Music". The album contains 16 tracks in total.
In the same 2015, another Zombie album appeared on iTunes, Google Play and other streaming services. The work was appreciated by music lovers and music critics.
About the conflict between Konstantin and Boris Burdaev
Konstantin Burdaev kept silent about the conflict with his brother for a long time. But in one of his interviews, he opened the cards a little. Konstantin told how one night he was forced to change the password from the official pages of the Brothers Grim group.
Boris categorically did not want to perform, give concerts, record new tracks. He explained his unwillingness to create one: "I'm tired."
Konstantin, on the contrary, wanted to please fans with fresh works. The views of the brothers diverged, which, in fact, was the cause of the quarrel.
Then Konstantin performed under the pseudonym "Grim", and Boris tried to regain the right to use the original name of the group. But everything was to no avail.
Boris said that after Konstantin "turned off the air", he lived on a thousand rubles a week. Boris repeatedly addressed his brother with a conciliatory speech, but he was unshakable.
“If you don’t think about me and our group, then you can think about parents who are over 60 years old,” Boris recently addressed Konstantin with these words.
Brothers Grimm today
2018 began with a joyful event. The vocalist of the musical group married his beloved - Tatyana. The couple had been together for a long time, but only in August the young people decided to legalize the relationship.
And in the same 2018, Konstantin gave the first honest interview for the Russian Music Box as part of the Conquest of M program. Kostya shared his creative plans with fans and once again “washed the bones” to his brother Boris.
In 2019, the musicians presented the original remix of the Grimrock composition Fuzzdead by Alexei Frolov. In the same year, the Brothers Grim released the song Robinson.
The composition hit all kinds of radio stations in Russia in April of the same year. A little later, a video clip was also filmed for the track.
In 2019, a mini-collection "Desert Island" was released. The record was warmly received by the "fans" of the musical group. In the summer, the album was already on various digital platforms.
