Born and raised in Orange County, California, Brett Young fell in love with music and learned to play the guitar as a teenager.

In the late 90s, Young attended Calvary Chapel High School in Costa Mesa. There, he volunteered to help the head of the school with speeches on Friday mornings.

One day his leader was out of town and Yang took his place. This experience convinced him that he had what it took to perform in front of a large audience, but even with this desire, his first dedication was to the sport.

Young was a real star on the Calvary Chapel High baseball team, and in high school he helped lead the team to a 28-1 record and led them to the CIF championship.

But still, Young's desire to sing was stronger, because he is part of that generation of singers who are listened to and melted by their voice. He has captured the hearts of music lovers ever since he picked up the guitar and started singing.

With a growing passion and new ambitions in his heart, Young self-released a self-titled four-song EP in 2007 and Make Believe in 2011 before releasing his full-length albums Brett Young, On Fire and Broken Down.

After working and living in Los Angeles for eight years, Young made the inevitable move to Nashville, Tennessee to continue his burgeoning music career.

As Young began promoting his music, he left California for Nashville, Tennessee and celebrated the move with his first EP called Country in California.

Young's new sounds caught the attention of Nashville's powerful Big Machine Label Group, who signed him to a contract.

Young's debut for the label was a six-song EP titled Brett Young which was released in February 2016.

His single "Sleep Without You" performed well in country music and peaked at number 81 on pop charts such as the Billboard Hot 100.

"In Case You Did Not Know" followed before the release of his eponymous debut on Big Machine in February 2017. The album peaked at number two on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, eventually going platinum.

In September 2018, Young released "Here Tonight", the first single from his follow-up album Ticket to LA, which also included the track "Chapters" with Gavin DeGraw.

There was a lot of speculation about Young's personal life, especially as he began to achieve even more success.

He often answered a question about relationships like this: “I have been in a relationship for a while and ... it's great, but also quite difficult. You are separated for a lot of time, which makes it difficult to maintain a relationship, and it was I who was not at home enough to meet anyone ... so my situation is not simple!

Not surprisingly, the emotions and pain he sings about were most likely real.

But the mystery was finally solved when he announced his engagement to Taylor Mills in 2018.

He said in an interview: “We met over 10 years ago in Scottsdale when she was at ASU [Arizona State University]. After high school, she and I moved to Los Angeles together. When I moved to Nashville we went on hiatus for a few years and I wrote a lot of my first songs about her. There was never any thought that this was the end, it just wasn't the right time for us. We recently got back in touch and realized we were both finally at the right time and the right moment."

Brett and Taylor got married on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Desert, California. According to friends, the couple married in front of 200 guests, which included Luke Combs, Lee Bryce and Gavin DeGraw.

Three artists also performed during the wedding reception.

This year, the couple delighted their fans even more with the fact that they are ready to expand. “We've known each other for a long time, and at our age, it's normal that we think of a real full-fledged family. I think we're ready to take the next step," Taylor shared about starting a family. Brett and Taylor will be welcoming their little one early this fall!
