"Irina Kairatovna" is a popular Kazakh project, which was formed in 2017. In 2021, Yuri Dud interviewed the band's musicians. At the beginning of the interview, he noted that, briefly, “Irina Kairatovna” is an association of comedians who first joked on the Internet in sketch mode, and then began to “make” high-quality music.
The videos of the guys are gaining millions of views. Until recently, most music lovers of the CIS countries did not know about the existence of "Irina Kairatovna", but after the release of an interview with the participation of Kazakh rappers, the position of the team has changed dramatically.
"Irina Kairatovna": Team composition
It all started in 2017, in Astana. "Irina Kairatovna" is the name of the project, which became popular thanks to the show of the same name, which was broadcast and held on YouTube. The team is led by the following members:
- Zhasulan Ongarov;
- Azamat Marklenov;
- Aldiyar Zhaparkhanov;
- Ilya Humenny.
Each of the members of the group had their own story, which "forced" not to bury the talent within themselves. The guys met while receiving higher education. Even then they played in KVN, and even reached the Sochi League. The guys obviously knew what they would do together.
After the club of funny and resourceful guys shoot trendy vines and “upload” videos on Instagram. The only thing that did not suit them was the restrictions that were in effect on this site. The fact is that they could not upload videos to Instagram that were longer than 60 seconds. The solution was found in a short time - they started a channel on a large YouTube video hosting.
The state media company bought the channel from the popular team. They signed a contract with them. It soon turned out that along with the financing, the Kazakhs also acquired censorship restrictions. The guys decided to leave the old platform, having founded the GOST ENTERTAINMENT channel. The team members continued to engage in humor, but on their own.
A little about the team members
Kuanysh Beisekov - most fans associate with the ideological inspirer. He is not afraid of anything and encourages the rest of the team members to do the same. In the group, he takes the place of the director.
Aldiyar Zhaparkhanov is the author of most of the jokes. While Azamat Marklenov calls a genius producer, and Zhasulan Ongarov a genius improviser. Ilya Gumenny is responsible for the music in the group. By the way, the last one is the only Russian in the team.
The creative path of "Irina Kairatovna"
The audience of humorists consists of teenagers and young adults. The guys have frank fans, but there are also enough haters. The videos of the project participants are distinguished by the perfect balance between good and evil - they seem to "walk on the edge of a knife." Almost every video of "Irina Kairatovna" is gaining several million views.
“We are not professionals. Naturally, something may not work right away. We experiment with sound, look for a unique style, and yes, we make mistakes. That is why they almost immediately set the age limit of 21+, ”comment the group members.
There were some misunderstandings as well. The record label, which belongs to Vasily Vakulenko (Basta), demanded that the musicians remove from the third edition of the show everything related to the slightest mention of the rapper Scryptonite. The musicians fulfilled the requirements of the label representatives.
Over time, the release of sketches ended with the presentation of musical compositions in the hip-hop genre. They, along with the show, instantly become popular. The clip "Run" deserves special attention. In 2021, the video scored just under two million views. The views speak for themselves.
The guys dedicated the video for the track “Run” to the topic of domestic violence. Musicians are sure that domestic violence is a common thing for most of the inhabitants of the planet, and this is where all the pain lies. They themselves faced alcohol abuse and beatings in the family.
The video for the musical composition "5000" has gained tens of millions of views on YouTube. The composition is perceived by fans as the anthem of a new generation.
In recent interviews, the musicians said that rap is gradually growing from “just a hobby” into a professional field of activity. The tracks of rappers go with a bang to music lovers, so they have no reason to refuse to upgrade themselves as rap artists.
Irina Kairatovna: our days
In October 2020, the band's discography was replenished with a debut LP. The disc received the laconic name "13 Issue". Issue 13 is an ideal gift for those who have been waiting for a new episode of the sketch show and a statement about a new vector of development. The musicians said without hesitation in their voice that they were planning to take over the stage.
They compared themselves to Wu-Tang and NBA stars. Hiro and singer Kairat Nurtas took part in the recording of the debut LP. The studio headlined 20 tracks.
From the debut release of the team, consisting of former comedians and current YouTube comedians, one could expect very different things. As a result, fans of "street music" received original and original hip-hop with non-trivial beats from the "13 Issue" disc.
In mid-May 2021, the band members became guests of an interview with Yuri Dud. In an interview, the musicians introduce Dudya to the geography of Kazakhstan and the customs of their native country. The rappers told how it is possible to tour with a minimum number of tracks for the "soul", how the concerts are held in their homeland and why the people of Kazakhstan should definitely watch the "Borat" tape. The interview turned out to be as sincere and colorful as possible.
