Under the creative pseudonym Caribou, the name of Daniel Victor Snaith is hidden. A modern Canadian singer and composer, he works in the genres of electronic music, as well as psychedelic rock.
Interestingly, his profession is far from what he does today. He is a mathematician by training. At school he was interested in the exact sciences, and already becoming a student of a higher educational institution, Victor discovered in himself an irresistible interest in music.
The childhood and youth of Daniel Victor Snaith
Daniel Victor Snaith was born on March 29, 1978 in London. However, the young man spent his conscious childhood and youth in Toronto. Little is known about his early childhood.
By nature, Victor is a hidden person. In public, he rarely talks about his childhood and his family.
Snate graduated from Parkside Secondary School. Then he decided to become a mathematician. He enrolled at the University of Toronto.
After graduation, the young man moved to the United Kingdom. There he continued to receive postgraduate education at Imperial College London (Imperial College London). In 2005, Snaith successfully defended his thesis.
Interestingly, Kevin Buzzard, a well-known British mathematician and professor, worked with Snaith himself. After receiving his degree, Snaith decided to stay in England. It was very important for him to be close to his family.

The head of the family wanted his son to follow his path. However, Snaith himself had other plans for his life.

The Creative Path of Caribou
Snaith's first compositions can be found under the pseudonym Manitoba. In 2004, the young man was forced to change his "star" name to Caribou. Snaith, not of his own free will, was forced to change his creative pseudonym.
The fact is that Snate was sued by the soloists of the musical group The Dictators, Richard Bloom, also known as Handsome Dick Manitoba.
Thus, the composition of the group's name already included the word manitoba. Snaith disagreed completely with the lawsuit. But he did not defend his right, so he was forced to change his name to Caribou.
Between 2000, Snaith gave his first performances. In addition to himself, the group included: Ryan Smith, Brad Weber and John Shmersal. In addition, bassist Andy Lloyd and drummer Peter Mitton, producer of CBC Radio, were members of the band.
The group's performance deserves considerable attention. Huge screens were installed at concerts, on which various video projections were played. The sound, together with the projection, created an unsurpassed atmosphere at concerts.
In 2005, the Marino DVD was released. One of these concerts got on the disc. Snaith himself in one of his interviews said:
“...my musical compositions are born by comparing different sounds into a melody. Actually, it conveys my mood. With my listeners, I am extremely sincere. I think that thanks to this I managed to gather a mature audience around me ... ”.

In 2007, the performer presented Andora to his fans. Interestingly, thanks to this work, the singer received the Polaris Music Prize 2008, and the next album, Swim, made it to the final list of nominees for the Polaris Music Prize in 2010.
Caribou spent 2010 on a big concert tour. The guys performed throughout the United States of America and Canada. And at the end of the same year, the musicians went on their first world tour.
The team played a significant number of concerts in major European countries. In 2011, the musicians could be seen on the stage in Australia and New Zealand.
From 2003 to 2011 Snate expanded his discography with five albums:

- The Milk of Human Kindness (2005);
- Start Breaking My Heart (2006);
- Andora (2007);
- Swim (2010).
In 2014, Caribou's discography was replenished with the sixth album Our Love. The disc includes 10 powerful musical compositions. In 2016, this album won a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album.

2017 was no less productive for Caribou. This year the singer presented a new album Joli Mai. Snaith managed to keep in the tracks everything for which the fans love the work of the composer and singer so much: drive, melody and crazy energy.
The golden songs of the artist's repertoire in 2018 were: Weekender, This Is the Moment, Made of Stars, Drilla Killa, Mentalist, Crate Digger, Driving Hard from the new Hi-Octane album. The disc was released in 2018. The musicians did not forget to please their fans with concerts.
In 2019, Snaith presented the EP Sizzling. The tracks were warmly received by fans and music critics. In February 2020, Caribou expanded their discography with the album Suddenly.
