CLOUDLESS - a young musical group from Ukraine is only at the very beginning of its creative path, but has already managed to win the hearts of many fans not only at home, but all over the world.
The most important achievement of the group, whose sound style can be described as indie pop or pop rock, is participation in the qualifying round of the national Eurovision Song Contest 2020. However, the musicians are full of energy and ready to continue to delight grateful listeners.
A bit of history about the creation of Cloudless
Each of the band members has a certain musical experience behind them. Evgeny Tyutyunnik was previously a vocalist in a band that promoted heavy metal, TKN. Anton acted as a drummer in the Violet band, popular in his homeland. The composition of the group changed periodically, and only these two guys can be called the founding fathers.
The guys knew each other long before the start of joint creativity. But they decided on general experiments only in 2015. At the same time, the first demo recording of the group was created. She did not attract the attention of professional studios. But the musicians were not used to giving up and decided to hone their skills a little more so that the second performance would be more successful.
The band's name was chosen quite by accident. Anton and Evgeny went to a meeting and watched the weather forecast on the way. When the inscription “cloudless” appeared on the screen, the musicians realized that there was something in this word that touched some strings of their inner world. After a heated discussion, it was decided that the working name of the new band would be CLOUDLESS.
First successes
For the first time, the team decided to appear in public in 2017 as part of four people. Anton Panfilov was the bass player, Yevgeny Tyutyunnik was the vocalist. Yuri Voskanyan took over the guitar parts, and Maria Sorokina was approved for the drum set. Working on the material, the new group began active concert activity, performing at venues and festivals throughout Ukraine.
At the same time, the musicians recorded their first studio work "Mizh Svіtami". The well-known sound producer Sergey Lyubinsky took an active part in it. Literally instantly, almost all the tracks were dismantled by the directors of television series. The compositions of the group can be heard in such films as "Daddies", "School", "Sidorenki-Sidorenki", "Meeting of Classmates", etc.
Also, their songs were gladly analyzed by the creators of entertainment programs. To get acquainted with the work of the group, it is enough to listen to the musical accompaniment of the programs “Kohannya na vizhivannya”, “Hata na tata”, “Zvazhenі ta schaslivі”, etc.
Active experiments in music could not but affect the atmosphere in the team. For unknown reasons, drummers changed most often in the group. After recording the video clip "Buvay", Yevgeny Tyutyunnik announced his desire to leave.
Until this sad moment, musicians who aspired to take a leading position in the Ukrainian musical Olympus performed at the Sentrum club until (for reasons beyond the band's control) the organization ceased to exist.
Deserved popularity of Cloudless
Two years have passed in active concert activity. During this time, the team has gained well-deserved popularity not only at home. In a busy touring schedule, the musicians managed to find time to create new compositions. The result of their efforts was the new studio album "Mayak", which was released in 2019. According to the established tradition, the tracks from the disc were included in the television program "Kohannya na vizhivannya".
The departure of the vocalist from the band influenced the rest of the project, but the musicians were not going to give up without a fight. At that time, the X-factor show was taking place, and one day Anton saw the performance of Yuri Kanalosh. It was an instant symbiosis, and Anton called a new member of the group.
The busy filming schedule did not allow Yuri to immediately agree. But after some time, having considered the proposal of the musicians, the guy agreed and did not regret it. He very organically joined the team, bringing new interesting notes to the work.
At the same time, the guys accidentally found a new guitarist, Mikhail Shatokhin. The musician was going through a difficult period in his life, parting with the previous team. Standing at a crossroads between continuing his creative path and ordinary existence, he posted a post on social networks, which was seen by the musicians from the CLOUDLESS group.
This was followed by the recording of the new composition Drown Me Down, in which the band revealed new facets of their talent. With this hit, the musicians did not hesitate to take part in the qualifying round for participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. And according to the results of the voting, they took 6th place. Such success charged the members of the team, and they were already making plans for a new studio album. But suddenly Yuri Kanalosh announced his departure from the group.
Grandeeиbig plans
Accustomed to shocks, the musicians again announced a competition to fill the vacant position. And the place at the microphone was taken by the participant of the project "Voice of the Country" (season 8) Vasily Demchuk. In addition, the drummer of the team has once again changed. Now Alexander Kovachev is behind the installation.
The beginning of the pandemic corrected the plans of the musicians. But even before the general closure of borders, they managed to shoot a video clip for the song "Dumki", which was released in two versions - in Ukrainian and English. The guys have a lot of creative ideas. This means that in the near future we should expect new interesting tracks from them.
In 2020, the guys pleased the fans with the release of a video for the track Slow. This year they managed to visit several Ukrainian cities with concerts.
Cloudless Eurovision
In 2022, information was received that the musicians would take part in the National selection for Eurovision. In total, 27 Ukrainian artists were on the list of those wishing to represent the country.
The final of the National selection "Eurovision" was held in the format of a television concert on February 12, 2022. The trio of judges were headed by Tina Karol, Jamala and film director Yaroslav Lodygin.
Cloudless were honored to be the first to perform in the National Selection. The live performance of the artists was overshadowed by an unpleasant incident. During the performance, problems with sound began. The guys failed to fully reveal the beauty of the track.
According to the rules of Eurovision, if a technical failure occurs on the stage, the group can perform again. Thus, the guys performed again after appearing on stage Alina Pash.
“Thank you very much for your warm support. Although we didn’t understand how many points we got. We got a kick out of our performance. And everything else doesn't matter. See you at the concert on March 17, ”the musicians addressed the fans.
Despite this, the artists received only 1 point from the judges, while the audience gave 4 points. The points earned are not enough to go to Italy.
