The beginning of the creative path of the folklore group

The DakhaBrakha team was formed in early 2000 by the permanent artistic director and music producer Vladislav Troitsky.

All members of the group were students of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. Nina Garenetskaya, Irina Kovalenko, Elena Tsibulskaya have been working together for 20 years, and outside of work they were best friends.

The basis of the group consists of amateurs and performers of folklore and folk genres, members of the Dakh Theater troupe (now the Kiev Center for Contemporary Art "DAH"), headed by Vladislav Troitsky, who brought the team together.

The name is also interpreted with the name of the theater with derivatives from the verb "give" (give) and "brother" (take). Also, all musicians of the band are multi-instrumentalists.

Initially, the project was conceived as a live accompaniment to the unusual theatrical productions of Troitsky.

The group gradually began to acquire an unusual, unique sound, which smoothly moved them to the next musical production project "Mystical Ukraine".

Already 4 years later, the musical group went on various tours, began work on their debut album. In addition, the DakhaBrakha group did not stop musical and theatrical activities, continuing to create bewitching melodies for various performances.

In 2006, the release of the first disc of the group "Na Dobranich" took place, in which talented Ukrainian sound engineers Anatoly Soroka and Andriy Matviychuk participated. The following year, the album "Yagudi" was released, and in 2009 - "On the border".
