Helena Fisher (or Elena Petrovna Fisher) was born on August 5, 1984 in Krasnoyarsk (Russia). She has German citizenship, although she considers herself partially Russian.

Elena's paternal grandparents were Volga Germans who were repressed and sent to Siberia.

Helena's family emigrated to Rhineland-Palatinate (West Germany) when the girl was only 3 years old. Peter Fischer (Elena's father) is a physical education teacher, and Marina Fischer (mother) is an engineer. Helena also has an older sister named Erika Fisher.
