Intelligent Music Project is a supergroup with a volatile line-up. In 2022, the team intends to represent Bulgaria at Eurovision.
Reference: Supergroup is a term that appeared at the end of the 60s of the last century to describe rock bands, all of whose members have already become widely known as part of other bands, or as solo performers.
History of creation and composition of the Intelligent Music Project
The supergroup was formed on the territory of Bulgaria in 2012. At the origins of the team is an influential businessman Milen Vrabevski. Initial line-up included: Simon Phillips, John Payne, Carl Sentance, Bobby Rondinelli and Todd Sucherman. Today, the line-up also includes one of the strongest rock vocalists - Ronnie Romero.
Behind Ronnie is an impressive number of interesting collabs. In addition, he has collaborated with Jose Rubio's Nova Era, Aria Inferno, Voces del Rock, Rainbow, CoreLeoni and The Ferrymen.
The rocker managed to work with the Queen tribute project - A Night At The Opera. This is the only vocalist of his kind who "holds out" the compositions of "Queen". He is often compared to the legendary Freddie Mercury.
In 2022, it became clear in what line-up the guys will go to conquer the international competition. Recall that this year the song event will be held in the Italian town of Turin. So, the Intelligent Music Project will take the stage with the following line-up: Ronnie Romero, Biser Ivanov, Slavin Slavchev, Ivo Stefanov, Dimitar Sirakov and Stoyan Yankulov.
The creative path of the rock band
2012 was marked by the release of a full-length LP. The record was called The Power of Mind. Longplay was warmly received by critics and music lovers.
The next two years, the rockers released two more records. We are talking about the collections My Kind o' Lovin' and Touching the Divine. From a commercial point of view, the records cannot be called successful. But, despite this, the popularity of the guys continued to grow. The rockers were actively touring, and in between concerts they were mixing a new studio album.
In 2018, the premiere of the collection Sorcery Inside took place. The album was topped by 8 tracks. Particularly noteworthy are the compositions Viva (a video was shot for the track), Granted, Yesterdays That Mattered.
2020 was opened by the singles Every Time and I Know. In the same year, the band's discography was replenished with the album Life Motion. The compositions that lead the disc are "impregnated" with the best example of guitar sound. Inspiring lyrics and melody - immerse music lovers in such a familiar and "learned" sound of the Intelligent Music Project. By the way, the works included in the longplay are not without meaning.
In 2021, The Creation was released. The album combines the styles of all previous releases. The collection is topped by 12 cool tracks. The tracks Listen, Sometimes & Yesterdays That Mattered and Intention were released as singles.
Intelligent Music Project: Today
The team will represent their country at the international song contest in 2022. The supergroup was one of the first to present a track with which the rockers will win. The song Intention received not the most positive responses. Many said that the track is quite "simple" for a competition of this format.
The video premiered later. The video combines several storylines. In the first part, the performance of the band is broadcast directly, and in the second part, a guy who plays a computer game.
In January 2022, a number of media outlets published the news that the lead singer of the band, Ronnie Romero, was facing a real sentence. As it turned out, he threatened his ex-lover. Actually, this was the reason for the accusations. Romero didn't show up for court. The musician faces 5 years in prison.
