Kalinov Most is a Russian rock band whose permanent leader is Dmitry Revyakin. Since the mid-1980s, the composition of the group has constantly changed, but such changes were to the benefit of the team.
Over the years, the songs of the Kalinov Most group became rich, bright and "tasty".
The history of the creation and composition of the Kalinov Most group
Rock band formed in 1986. Actually, at this time the musicians presented their first magnetic album. The first concerts of the group took place a little earlier, and Dmitry Revyakin was involved in organizing the performances.
Dmitry began his creative path by moonlighting as a DJ at local discos. But already at that time, the young man dreamed of his own group.
Soon Dmitry was joined by: Viktor Chaplygin, who sat down at the drums, Andrey Shchennikov, who picked up the bass guitar, and Dmitry Selivanov, who played string instruments. With Dmitry Selivanov, Revyakin played together in the Health group.
Dmitry Selivanov did not last long in the team. He had to leave the Kalinov Most group due to disagreements with Revyakin.
Soon a new member Vasily Smolentsev came to the new team. The group was in this composition for 10 years. Shchennikov was the first to leave the "gold line-up". At this time, the musicians had just begun working on their fifth studio album, Weapons.
To record the collection, the musicians invited the talented bassist Oleg Tatarenko, who worked with the Kalinovy Most band throughout 1999.
Tatarenko was soon replaced by Evgeny Baryshev, who remained in the team until the mid-2000s.
In 2001, Smolentsev told his fans the sad news - he intended to leave the group. So, in 2002, Stas Lukyanov and Evgeny Kolmakov played in the Kalinovy Most group, and in 2003 - Igor Khomich.
In the same 2003, Oleg Tatarenko again joined the team. Neither Tatarenko nor Khomich stayed in one place for a long time. Since the mid-2000s, the band has found a new guitarist.
The place of the main guitarist was taken by Konstantin Kovachev, who not only knew how to play the guitar superbly, but also performed parts on the lute, harp and keyboard instruments in some tracks.
A little later, Tatarenko's place was taken by Andrey Baslyk. Along with the permanent Revyakin and Chaplygin, Baslyk and Kovachev were musicians of the current composition of the band.
The creative path and music of the Kalinov Most group
Until the early 1990s, the Kalinov Most group created music that, in philosophy and motives, was similar to the hippie movement. No wonder the musical composition "Girl in Summer", which was included in the first album, became the soundtrack of the movie "House of the Sun".
The film was dedicated to the life of "flower children" in the Soviet Union, which was shot by Garik Sukachev. The film is based on a story by Ivan Okhlobystin.
After the presentation of the debut collection, which went through the hands of colleagues in the "workshop", the Kalinov Most group found its own niche in the music industry.
In 1987, the group performed on the stage of St. Petersburg. The band's appearance on the stage was announced by Konstantin Kinchev himself. After this event, the group became a frequent guest of music festivals, nightclubs and apartment houses.
In the late 1980s, Dmitry Revyakin returned to his native Novosibirsk. The rest of the musicians were confused without their leader. The Kalinov Most group still performs on stage, but the musicians are forced to perform other people's songs.
Basically, these were cover versions of tracks by foreign artists. During this period of time, Dmitry created material that allowed his group to begin cooperation with the Stas Namin Center.
The debut album
The musicians presented their first professional album in 1991. We are talking about the collection "Vyvoroten". Simultaneously with this event, the musicians created songs for the collections "Uzaren" and "Darza".
The lyrics of the 1990s are marked by the use of anachronisms, the Old Church Slavonic language, and images characteristic of pagan culture. Later, in one of his interviews, Dmitry Revyakin characterized the musical genre as "new Cossack songs."
The most significant event in the "life" of the rock band was the recording of the fifth studio album "Arms". The keyboards and wind instruments were replaced by a self-confident and at the same time powerful electric guitar.
Music critics called the collection "Arms" the most militant album in the discography of the Kalinov Most group. The most popular song was "Native". The musicians filmed a video clip for the song.
Thanks to the album “Arms”, the musicians gained the nationwide love of fans of heavy music. In addition, this collection gave the team a good profit. From a commercial point of view, the collection is considered a success.
Soon the band's discography was replenished with the album "Ore". The disc turned out to be no less popular than the collection "Arms". The new collection strengthened the authority of the Kalinov Most group. There was "silence" after the release of this collection.
During this period, the Kalinov Most group did not release collections, but the musicians actively toured various countries. This time is also remarkable for the change in composition. The instability of the period is also superimposed by a personal tragedy.
The leader of the group, Dmitry Revyakin, died of a heart attack, his beloved wife Olga. Only a year later, the group's discography was replenished with the SWA compilation. Most of the tracks were dedicated to Olga Revyakina.
In 2007, Revyakin presented the album "Ice Campaign". According to the musician himself, this is one of the strongest collections of the band. "The first violin was played" by ideological lyrics, in which one feels the author's sympathy for Orthodoxy and the White movement.
In 2009, the musicians presented the album "Heart" to fans. The composition of the disc again included lyrical ballads about love, life, loneliness.
The peak of the group's popularity
In the late 2000s, the Kalinov Most team became the headliner of the largest music festivals: Invasion, Rock-ethno-stan, Heart of Parma, etc.
The Kalinov Most group, in the literal sense of the word, was gifted with the attention of famous producers. Since 2010, the rock band has replenished its music record with more than five albums.
Fans were pleasantly surprised by such a productivity of their favorite group.
In 2016, the Kalinov Most group presented the 16th studio album Season of the Sheep. Funds for recording the record were collected with the help of fans.
Thanks to a successful campaign, the presentation of the new collection took place, and the participants who financed the project received digital copies of the record.
Kalinov bridge group today
In 2018, Dmitry Revyakin received the prestigious Soloist of the Year award. In the same year, fans became aware of the launch of a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for the release of the Dauria collection.
Funds were raised almost instantly, and therefore in 2018 music lovers were already enjoying the tracks of the new album.
In 2019, Dmitry Revyakin presented the solo collection "Snow-Pecheneg". Then the Kalinov Most group actively traveled around Russia with their concerts. In addition, the musicians were noted at thematic festivals.
In 2020, it became known that the Kalinov Most team will perform in an updated line-up. The new guitarist Dmitry Plotnikov refreshed the band's sound. The musicians plan to spend this year on tour.
