"Kurgan & Agregat" is a Ukrainian hip-hop group, which first became known in 2014. The team is called the most authentic Ukrainian hip-hop group of the last few years. It's really hard to argue with that.
The guys do not imitate their Western colleagues, so they sound original. Sometimes, musicians do things that can be called brilliant without hesitation.
If we analyze the "evolution" of the group, it may seem that the team was born as one big joke, then turned into an Internet meme, and today Kurgan & Agregat fans are dealing with real professionals.
Perhaps the guys themselves do not understand how cool they have grown over this period of time. The most hardy Ukrainian rappers have gone through a real transformation, and today their work reaches both young and more mature listeners.
History of foundation and composition of Kurgan & Agregat
For the first time, the musicians became known in 2014. Although before that the guys had already done rap “for fun”. They didn’t count on hitting the jackpot, so when in 2012 the video “Love (Love)” was recorded on an amateur camera (smartphone), the rappers were not even going to claim any success.
Each of the team members for that period of time lived in the small town of Twins (Kharkiv region). The province did not warm the future idols of millions with warm hugs, so it was necessary to promote themselves on their own.

The first works of the group can be described as "village aesthetics". The tracks of the rap collective are an assortment in which you can listen to about a rural toilet, socks with flip flops and cigarettes. The guys did not forget about the use of surzhik. Fans say that it is enough to listen to at least one track of the band to “crush” the surging melancholy. It's better not to look for philosophy in the band's texts... well, at least the situation today.
Critics about the music of the Ukrainian rap group
A bit of appreciation from music experts. Yuri Bondarchuk and Andrey Friel (rappers) called the team the brightest representatives of lumpen rap. With this opinion, it is difficult to argue.
The publicist and music critic Ales Nikolenko gave the group the title of the most authentic group of the last few years. The musical work of the Degan team, in his opinion, “can fully claim to be the anthem of the generation, which was at the end of the 90s of the VUZV“ Hour, scho passes ”.
But the journalist and editor of the Muzmapa website, Daniil Panimana, says that Kurgan & Agregat “left” only due to the stereotype of a narrow-minded, but sincere collective farmer, which has developed among the snobbish urban intelligentsia. He is convinced that the so-called rappers gained fame solely on the background of humor and satire. Daniil advised the guys to develop in order to keep their audience.
Creative way Kurgan & Agregat
In mid-April 2014, the premiere of the video for the track "Love" took place. Over time, the work became viral, and the guys became local stars. As of 2021, the video has received more than 2 million views.
Ordinary provincial musicians did not expect such success. A year later, together with Daria Astafieva, they presented a joint work. We are talking about the clip "Teacher".
A couple of years later, the guys presented a cool mixtape, which was called "Degan". Somewhat later it turned out that the artists started working on their debut full-length LP. The ice broke in 2018.
The album "High School Rap" was definitely loaded with positive success. Plastic available for download on Google Play, Apple Music and Spotify.
“It so happened that after the release of our last song, we didn’t release anything anymore. You probably had time to think that all this time we just rested and cheered on this rap. But no. We didn’t rest, and we really suffered garbage just to please you with the release of a new album, ”the musicians commented on the release of the LP.
In support of the collection, the guys pleased the fans with concerts. In the same period of time, they literally do not leave the music venues. The guys take part in the festivals ZaxidFest, Atlas Weekend, Fine Misto, Hedonism Festival and others. In 2018, they gave a detailed interview to The Interviewer channel.
The fact that the appearance of rappers on stage is just a “bomb / rocket” deserves special attention. Real miracles happen at the performances of the guys. Due to the rustic texts, fans know by heart even the most recent compositions. A charge of positive emotions is guaranteed to everyone.
By the way, the rap group, unlike many other groups, often tours. The guys perform not only at large venues. They enjoy visiting provincial towns.
Cooperation with Dasha Astafieva
As for the musical novelties of 2019, the Gabeli clip can definitely be called the most successful entry. According to the already established tradition, the video starred a charming Daria Astafieva. Extraordinary hip-hop about love in the style of the 80s - this is how the novelty should be characterized.
The plot of the clip is simple and at the same time fascinating: Dasha and Kurgan accidentally meet in a fox. An unplanned meeting turns into something more.
Participation in the filming of Ramil and Amil Nasirov in the film "Luxembourg, Luxembourg"
2020 turned out to be even more productive and full of news. Firstly, starting this year, the career of rappers really “turned around”. And secondly, for the first time they tried themselves in new guises.
The director of one of the highest-rated domestic films of 2020, My Thoughts Are Quiet, Antonio Lukic, presented a teaser of a new work. The tape "Luxembourg, Luxembourg" perfectly illustrates the life story of two twins. The main roles were played by Amil and Ramil Nasirov.
“It is valuable for me that Amil and Ramil look harmonious in the frame. They are just incredibly funny. It seems to me that you can watch videos with the guys even without sound - everything is clear from their facial expressions and movements, ”the director comments.
In the same 2020, the premiere of the clip "Talisman" took place. The video again starred Ukrainian singer and sex symbol of the country - Dasha Astafieva. The video was posted on the Blissful Village YouTube channel.
“We wish each of you to find a talisman that will lead you through life to something better! And it doesn’t matter whether it’s a keychain or a pendant, or a person in general, the main thing is that it helps and doesn’t get lost.”
Now about the project launched by Ukrainian rappers. In 2020, Kurgan and Agregat became the "fathers" of the Food Sign project. The concept of the project is to create parodies of threaded interviews. In the summer, several episodes premiered on the Blissful Village channel. The guys continue to develop the project.
Kurgan & Agregat: our days
In 2021, the guys toured a lot. Finally, the concert activity of the team has intensified. True, these are not all the surprises of the outgoing year.
October pleased fans with the release of a new single, which the guys recorded with latex fauna. The track was called Retuziki. A week later, the Kurgan & Agregat Group released the LP "Zembonju". Rappers recorded tracks at the intersection of funk, jazz and disco. The only thing they haven't changed is the comic image.
