The contribution of the talented musician and composer Lucio Dalla to the development of Italian music cannot be overestimated. Connoisseurs of creativity Luccio Dalla is known as the author and performer of his own compositions, a brilliant keyboardist, saxophonist and clarinetist.
Childhood and youth Lucio Dalla
Luccio Dalla was born on March 4, 1943 in the small Italian town of Bologna. The post-war years turned out to be a difficult test for the whole world. But even in such conditions, the boy was very fond of life and music.
His taste was shaped by performances by local soul and jazz fans. Already at the age of 10, his mother gave the boy the first real musical instrument - a clarinet.
In the early 1950s, his talent began to unfold in full. As a teenager, he joined the rising Rheno Dixieland Band. One of its members, Pupi Avati, later became a famous director. Frequent performances gave the necessary experience and developed skills. This allowed the group to take part in the first European level jazz festival. The festival took place on the French coast, in the small town of Antibes.
For the musician, 1962 was marked by an invitation to The Flippers, where he was invited to play the clarinet. For two years, the musician toured and simultaneously worked on creating his own material. Healthy ambitions allowed the artist to think about a solo career, but the strict terms of the contract did not allow him to part with the team.
The heyday of Lucio Dalla's career
In 1964, Luccio Dalla met the popular Italian singer Gino Paoli, who convinced the musician that it was time for him to give his own concerts.
Taking the soul style as the main direction, the composer began to work on writing a unique repertoire. At the same time began his long friendship and collaboration with Gianni Morandi.
As a composer, he often collaborated with Paolo Pallotino, Gianfranko Bondazzi and Sergio Bardotti. The artist recorded his first independent album Occhi Di Ragazza in 1970.
The composition of the same name, written specifically for Gianni Morandi, was very popular. The heyday of his creative career was in the mid-1970s.
Thanks to his talent as a composer, such authors and poets as Luigi Ghirri, Pier Vittorio, Tondelli Mimmo, Paladino Enrico Palandri, Gian Ruggero Manzoni, Luigi Ontani and others became famous.
The Turin concert in 1979 went down in history because of the number of people who wanted to listen to the musician. With a capacity of 15 people at Palasport, 20 tickets were sold. Those who could not get inside had to enjoy the moment outside the building.
The legendary creation of Caruso
In 1986, the musician stopped in a Neapolitan hotel on the way. Business owners said that it was in this building that the famous opera singer Enrico Caruso once died.
Inspired by the touching story about the last days of the legendary man and his touching love for a young student, Luccio Dalla wrote the composition Caruso, which became world famous thanks to such performers as Julio Iglesias, Mireille Mathieu, Luciano Pavarotti, Giani Morandi, Andrea Bocelli and others.
Two years later, the musician went on a long tour, where he was accompanied by Giani Morandi. A significant number of fans came to concerts at the Greek Theater in Syracuse, Italian stadiums, concert venues in Venice. At the same time, the singer's first visit to the USSR took place, where he was an invited guest as part of an international exhibition.
Album Cambio
In 1990, the artist recorded the CD Cambio. The composition Attenti al Lupo in Italy sold almost one and a half million copies. After watching Giacomo Puccini's opera Tosca, the musician began work on the musical performance Tosca Amore Disperato.
Worried about the result, the composer made a pre-screening, which took place on September 27, 2003 in the Castel Sant'Angelo. The resounding success made it possible to show the project in Rome, in the building of the Bolshoi Theatre.
The aria from this musical, recorded in collaboration with Mina, is considered one of the singer's most significant compositions. She ended up on his album Lucio, recorded at the same time. The singer went on the next long tour Il Contrario Di Me only in 2007.
In addition to his hometown, there were performances in Livorno, Genoa, Naples, Florence, Milan and Rome. The tour ended in Catania, at the end of the tour the musician recorded the album of the same name.
On February 14, 2012, the musician acted as a conductor and co-author at the Sanremo song contest, where the famous singer Pierdavide Carone performed the composition Nani.

The popularity of the musician allowed him to be on television. The sudden death of Lucio Dalla
The artist did not quite live up to 69 years. He was found dead in a hotel room on March 1, 2012. Doctors diagnosed a heart attack. According to eyewitnesses, on February 29, the singer felt great, giving the audience positive emotions. In the evening (on the eve of his death) he talked on the phone with friends, was sociable, cheerful and made further creative plans.
The musician was buried in the Basilica di San Petronio, located in the city where the artist was born and raised. More than 30 thousand people came to say goodbye to the legendary personality.
