Migos is a trio from Atlanta. The team cannot be imagined without such performers as Quavo, Takeoff, Offset. They make trap music.
The musicians gained their first popularity after the presentation of the YRN (Young Rich Niggas) mixtape, which was released in 2013, and the single from this release, Versace, which was released with an official remix featuring Drake.
The trio did not have to go through the stages: from "simple and poor" musicians to real idols of the public. Having released just one single, the rappers got to the very top of the musical Olympus. How did they do it? Offset believed that only black people could make good music.
The team was led by rappers: Quavo, Offset and Takeoff. Interestingly, the guys are not only stage colleagues and friends, but also relatives. So, Quavo is Takeoff's uncle, and Offset is Quavo's cousin.
The Migos are known for their distinctive and offbeat rhythm and rhyming style. Rapper tracks are always top. The trio knows what's trending right now and cleverly manipulates rap fans. Millions of fans around the planet are looking forward to the release of one of the most anticipated albums of 2020 - the Culture III compilation.
The creative path of trio Migos
It all started in 2013. It was then that the rappers released the single Versace. The track took an honorable 99th position on the Billboard Hot 100 hit parade. Drake soon made an official remix for the single. The track is played at the iHeart Radio Music Festival. The team began to be interested in critics, journalists and music lovers.
On the wave of popularity, the band released their debut mixtape YRN (Young Rich Niggas). The collection received a lot of flattering reviews not only from fans, but also from accomplished rappers. Spin magazine gave the trio an "8" and "10" possible score. The journalists noted that the Migos group sounds like Gucci Mane, Soulja Boy and Future.
The composition Versace was included in numerous ratings of the best singles of 2013. According to the XXL publishing house, the track became the most unexpected, but at the same time popular novelty of 2013.
The group toured extensively. The guys were happily greeted in nightclubs. They did not forget about videography either. During this period of time, the band released a number of video clips for the tracks of their debut mixtape.
Presentation of the second mixtape
In 2014, the Migos group presented their second mixtape No Label 2. The second disc repeated the success of the first. In the first week after the release, the collection was downloaded more than 100 thousand times.
The mixtape was praised by music critics. The Chicago online magazine Consequence of Sound wrote:
“It's the perfect combination of raucous party tunes and gleeful rap anthems for your next party. This collection is literally “stuffed” with potential hits…”.
Signing a contract with 300 Entertainment
Almost immediately after the presentation of the mixtape, the rappers signed a contract with 300 Entertainment. At the same time, the Fight Night track was included in the list of "25 Best Songs of 2014", according to the XXL publishing house.
As a result, the musical composition took the 69th position on the Billboard Hot 100. This is one of the band's most successful singles. In order not to miss the wave of popularity, the trio released another collection, which was called Rich Nigga Timeline. Almost every record release was accompanied by concerts.
A year later, the Migos group published the track One Time from the upcoming debut album. The single peaked at number 34 in the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs category. The album Yung Rich Nation was released in 2015 and contained collaborative singles with Chris Brown and Young Thug.
In the first week of sales, more than 15 thousand copies of the collection were sold out. Music critics and fans warmly welcomed the disc. The trio have announced that they want to work with the legendary rapper Nas.
Departure from 300 Entertainment
In September 2015, Migos announced that they were leaving 300 Entertainment. The guys have already grown up to create a label on their own. Their brainchild was called Quality Control Music. Rappers left 300 Entertainment only for the reason that they were not paid a large sum.
A year later, Kanye West announced that the band signed a contract with GOOD Music and are now representatives of this label. In the same year, the band, along with Rich the Kid, released the mixtape Streets On Lock 4.
In 2017, the band's discography was replenished with the second studio album. We are talking about the collection Culture. The album included collaborations with Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Gucci Mane and 2 Chainz.
The record received high marks from influential music critics. The album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200. In the first week of sales, the rappers managed to sell over 130 copies of the album.
A year later, the group presented the Culture II compilation. This compilation was a double album that included 24 songs. The new compilation features 21 Savage, Drake, Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, Ty Dolla Sign, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Post Malone and 2 Chainz.
Interesting facts about the Migos group
- Rappers claim that it takes them less than half an hour to write a track. We have no reason not to believe the performers, because the group "shot" the first time.
- The signature style of performance, which is popularly called "Migos-flow", was, alas, not invented by rappers. Takeoff says triplets were used in the 1990s in Bone Thungs-n-Harmony and Three 6 Mafia.
- Most of the musical material from the studio album Culture II was recorded by the musicians during the world tour. Rappers are not used to such extreme conditions - most often the texts are written in a home studio.
- As children, the band members helped each other through personal tragedies.
- At the request of the author of Rolling Stone to name Quavo five favorite rappers, the star named six at once: 2Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Gucci Mane and himself.

The Migos group presented their first single of 2021, Straightenin. The music video premiered on the day of the track's release. The trio has not changed traditions. In the video, rappers wave wads of money near luxury sports cars.
The Migos team in 2021
At the beginning of June 2021, Migos presented a new LP. The album was called Culture III. The triquel turned out to be noticeably shorter than the monstrous second part. The disc released the first fit of Migos and Future. A week later, the premiere of the deluxe version of the collection took place.
On June 8, 2022, it became clear that the band was not going to attend the Governors Ball festival. The announcement of the cancellation of the performance took place at a time when rumors about the group's breakup were in full swing. The fact is that Offset and his wife unsubscribed from Quavo and Takeoff. In addition, the latter two released a video for Hotel Lobby, in which Offset did not take part. Fans are actively discussing the birth of a new group - Unc & Phew.

The trio will replace Lil Wayne at the annual festival. Fans are following the group, sincerely hoping that it will not break up. There are also those who believe that this “movement” is nothing more than a PR stunt.
Termination of the existence of the Migos group
The first rumors about the breakup of the group appeared in 2022. The situation was provoked by rumors that beloved Quavo Saweetie allegedly slept with Offset.
In May 2022, Quavo and Takeoff released their first track, "Hotel Lobby (Unc & Phew)" under the pseudonym Unc & Phew. Later, the rappers released another masterpiece - the single "Us vs. Phew". In early October, the artists presented the longplay Only Built for Infinity Links. By the way, Offset is not present on it.
As a result of Takeoff's tragic death, the remaining members of the group decided to no longer release tracks under the creative pseudonym Migos. In early November 2022, the rappers announced their decision to fans. On February 22, 2023, Quavo shared a video for the track "Greatness". With this work, the rapper put a fat point on the existence of the rap group.
