Mikhey is an outstanding singer of the mid-90s. The future star was born in December 1970 in the small village of Khanzhenkovo near Donetsk. The real name of the artist is Sergey Evgenievich Krutikov.
In a small village, he received a secondary education for some time. Then his family moved to Donetsk.
The childhood and youth of Sergei Kutikov (Mikhei)
It is very difficult to call Sergey a “correct” teenager. Most of all, teachers suffered from his complex nature. The boy studied poorly, his behavior also could not be called exemplary.
Mikhey recalls that he was reluctant to attend school, and most of all during his school years he did not like exact subjects - mathematics, geometry, physics.
Micah was a real fidget. Once he found an old accordion at home, and began to learn to play this musical instrument on his own.
Mom noticed that Sergei definitely has a musical taste. She decides to send him to a music school. Sergei lasted exactly two years. He left the music room without getting a "crust". Later, he would learn to play drums and keyboards on his own.
Micah could not be called assiduous. And this was not only about education in educational institutions. Later, when he gets on the music path, he will change enough bands before he finds himself.
The choice of a life path by a future artist
The fact that Sergei wants to see himself exclusively in music, he realized back in the 4th grade. Then the local team invited Micah to become part of their team. The guys performed at school parties, and were very popular.
After leaving school, Sergei enters a music school, which is located in Rostov-on-Don. But even in this educational institution it was enough for exactly a couple of months.
The next step is admission to the metallurgical college. Micah decided not to change his traditions and after 4 months he successfully left the walls of the educational institution.
When he took the documents from the technical school, he entered the vocational school. There Sergey learned to cope with the program control of automatic lines.
Education in an educational institution has always remained in the background, because Micah completely dissolved in creativity.
Micah on the theater stage
At that time, Mikhey played on the stage of the Artyom Donetsk Theater and improved his playing on various instruments. In addition to the fact that Sergey is very good at musical instruments, he is also engaged in a type of break dance that was relevant at that time.
In the late 80s, Sergei began to actively visit the Youth Palace. There, the young man meets Vlad Valov.
Vlad Valov taught everyone how to break for free. His dance groups toured throughout the Soviet Union.
Micah receives a diploma and receives the profession of an adjuster. The young man is awarded a diploma, and he goes to conquer Leningrad.
In Leningrad, he became a student at the Higher School of Culture. But here again something goes wrong, Sergey leaves a higher educational institution and enters the Leningrad University for the Humanities.
At the Leningrad University for the Humanities, he met with his old acquaintances - Vlad Valov, already familiar to him from the break dance school, as well as Sergei Menyakin (Monya) and Igor Reznichenko (Maly).
Micah: the beginning of a creative career
Even before Mikhei entered the Leningrad University for the Humanities, the legendary Bad Balance group arose. The founders of the musical group were Vlad Valov (SHEFF) and Gleb Matveev (LA DJ).
About a year will pass and Mikhey, Monya and Malaya will join the musicians. In early 1990, the soloists of the musical group began to work on recording their debut album.
It is noteworthy that young people played their tracks at the best recording studios in St. Petersburg. The first album "Bad Balance" was called "Above the Law".
In 1993, Mikhey, SHEF and DJ LA moved to the capital of Russia - Moscow. In the same year, the soloists of the musical group began recording their next album, which was called Bad B Raiders.
The recording of the second disc, as in the first case, was carried out at a very cool recording studio. But now, the recording was done in the capital of Russia itself. The prestigious GALA Records studio helped to record their tracks.
The second album in a row is scattered throughout the CIS countries. Musicians literally wake up popular. Their songs are parsed for quotes. And then they get a chance to perform in the most popular metropolitan club "Jump". They use this chance.
After the release of the second album, the musicians began active touring. In particular, they perform together with the singer Bogdan Titomir.
Career in Germany
In the same year they set off to conquer Germany. They managed to win the hearts of fans in this country as well.
After a successful performance in Germany, the guys are allowed to hold concerts in local clubs. In particular, the musicians performed in one of the most prestigious clubs in Berlin.
In just 12 months, starting in 1994, rappers traveled with their concert program to more than 120 cities in Europe. In 1996, Micah and SHEF went to Los Angeles. There they also wrote the top song "Urban melancholy".
“Urban melancholy” is a kind of mini-description of the situation in Russia in the early 1990s. Soon, the guys filmed a laconic video clip for this song.
The clip was shown on several central TV channels, after which the guys' recognition increased several times more.
Popularity with third album
The guys continue to replenish their repertoire with quality tracks. They are actively working on the recording of the third album, and soon the fans of the work of the Bad Balance group will get acquainted with the tracks of the disc "Purely PRO ...".
After the release of the third album, music critics started talking about the fact that Mikhey and, in particular, the musical group were really making high-quality rap.
The guys don't stop there. More work coming up soon. The album is titled "Jungle City".
In this album, the musicians collected songs of the rap genre with melodic elements. Later, the members of the musical group filmed video clips for some tracks, which received a large number of positive responses from the audience.
In 1999, Micah announces that now it's time to pursue a solo career. And in principle, knowing the character of Sergei, this information surprised few people. During this period of time, the singer radically changed his image - he cut his long hair and took the stage name Micah.
Micah and Jumanji
After his departure from the rap group, Sergey reincarnates as Mikhey and becomes the founder of the Jumanji musical group. This name came first to Sergei, who watched the film of the same name with Robin Williams.
The newly formed musical group consisted of only a vocalist and bass player, whose name is Bruce.
In 1999, the guys released the musical composition "Bitch Love" to the general court. It was this track that brought the guys national love and popularity. And in the same year in Berlin they recorded the debut album of the group, which received the similar name "Bitch Love".
Music critics are beginning to be interested in the question regarding the musical orientation of the Micah group. Analyzing the group's tracks, critics noted that the songs are dominated by hip-hop, acid jazz, funk, sowa and delic reggae.
Micah's solo career
Micah's solo musical career gives the performer great pleasure.
The singer embodies the most daring musical ideas. In the mid-90s, Mikhey was a significant person in the world of show business.
But, in the activities of the musical group, not everything was as smooth as we would like. The group that Mikhey formed signed a contract with the Real Records label.
At some point, a conflict began to grow between Micah and the founder of the label. The tension became so powerful that it prevented the release of the second album. Although the materials of the second disc were in Micah's hands.
The performer makes a serious decision for himself to break with Real Records and return to Bad Balance and Valov-SHEF. The meeting of old acquaintances took place in 2002. But, unfortunately, Valov and millions of Mikhey's fans, the singer could not realize his plans.
Micah's personal life
Micah was in a relationship with Anastasia Filchenko. According to the recollections of friends, it was a completely happy union, which gave pleasure to both partners.
Acquaintances of the musician recall that Mikheya could not be called a local Casanova. There was only room in his heart for one woman, and that woman's name was Nastya.
Interestingly, Anastasia was with Sergei to the last, helping to overcome the serious illness of the musician.
Death of Micah
Sergei was a cheerful young man. At the peak of his popularity, he was hospitalized with a stroke. Micah spent 4 whole months in a hospital bed and, in principle, was on the mend.
But, unfortunately, Micah did not manage to save his life. There was a relapse and Sergei died of acute heart failure.
The death of the great singer came in October 2002. The musician was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery.
