Miles Peter Kane is a member of The Last Shadow Puppets. Previously, he was a member of The Rascals and The Little Flames. He also has his own solo work.
The childhood and youth of the artist Peter Miles
Miles was born in the UK, in the city of Liverpool. He grew up without a father. Only the mother was engaged in raising Peter. Despite the fact that Kane had no siblings, he had cousins on his mother's side. Peter Kane graduated from Hilbre High School. For quite a long time he suffers from chronic asthma.
The beginning of the career of the musician Peter Miles
Future frontman Peter started making music at the age of 8. Then his aunt gave him a gift in the form of a new guitar. However, not only this inspired him to study music. Prior to that, he was fond of playing the saxophone. Kane played in the school band.
At that time, his cousins James and Ian Skelly had their own musical group, The Coral. The guys also influenced the musical taste of the young saxophonist, especially James. The latter became his teacher and personal inspiration.
The Skelly brothers introduced Miles to their rock band, who in turn "took over" her style. It is worth noting that the genre in which he will later play at his concerts is extremely similar to the genre of The Coral.
In addition to playing musical instruments, Peter also practiced singing. In it, the guy made great strides, despite the initial doubt in his own abilities. As the performer himself says, he needed to “feel confident” in this matter, but it took time.
It should be noted that the frontman achieved more success as a solo artist. In 2009, Peter was included in the list of those who were nominated for the title of "Sex Symbol of the Year 2008". Then, in August of the same year, the guitarist participated in a photo shoot for Hedi Slimane, a famous French designer and photographer of that time.
Later, Peter participated in the group The Rascals, but in 2009 it broke up. True, this did not affect Kane's success in any way. He continued his career, already being a solo performer. This brought even more fruit than expected from the disbanded groups.
In May 2011, Peter released his album Color of the Trap. It included 12 songs and the first solo singles "Come closer" and "Inhaler". When this album was being created, Peter collaborated with other artists. Including with colleagues on past projects.
Projects with Peter Miles
The Little Flames
When Peter was 18 years old, he decided to join the British musical group The Little Flames. In addition to Kane himself, there were four more in it: Eva Petersen, Matt Gregory, Joe Edwards and Greg Mickhall. Their rock band saw the light in December 2004. After the musical group was to tour the cities together with other groups. Among them are The Dead 60s, Arctic Monkeys, The Zutons, and The Coral. The Little Flames disbanded in 2007.
The Rascals
After the rock band The Little Flames ceased to exist, a new group saw the light of day. The team was almost the same, with the exception of two musicians. In the new rock band with the cheeky name The Rascals, Peter Miles took over the songwriting. He also became a vocalist. All participants were striving for the same goal - to create good music in the genre of psychedelic indie rock. Thus, the impression was created that their songs have a special "dark aura". This became the main feature of this musical group.
The Last Shadow Puppets (2007–2008)
I must say, The Last Shadow Puppets did a great job in terms of musical experiments. During the tour, new songs were written by Alex Turner and Peter Miles. They became indicators of a successful partnership. This inspired the musicians to continue their joint creative activity. And so a new group The Last Shadow Puppets appeared, consisting of two people.
Then they created a joint album, which immediately "conquered the top" of the British charts. The debut album "The Age of the Understatement" was liked by many, first of all, by its novelty. This provided him with a leading position in the top. The collaboration between Alex and Peter has paid off. All their subsequent compositions were popular. At the end of 2015, they were awarded The Mojo.
The Last Shadow Puppets (2015–2016)
The song "Bad Habits" was released in January 2016. She also became the first single of the "newly minted" duet. On April 1 of the same year, the second album was released under the title "Everything You've Come to Expect". It is characterized by a very unusual genre - baroque pop. This project turned out to be larger than the previous one. Five people worked on it: the same Alex and Peter, and in addition to them there were also James Ford, Zach Dawes and Owen Pallett.
On March 17, Miles celebrated his 35th birthday.
