One Direction is a boy band with English and Irish roots. Team members: Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne. Former member - Zayn Malik (was in the group until March 25, 2015).

In 2010, The X Factor became the venue where the group was formed.
Initially, five guys came to the show with dreams of a big stage, fame, millions of fans. They are unaware that in a year they will become world stars. They will also become faces of advertising companies of some of the most famous brands.
Their show mentor Simon Cowell became their producer and signed with the group.
What Makes You Beautiful, the song and later single, with which the band debuted, topped the UK charts. The clip currently has over 1,1 billion views. This became an absolute record in history.
A year later, the musicians went on tour in support of their first album, Up All Night. They gave 62 concerts in six countries: USA, UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico.
Concert tickets sold out in no time. Each concert was accompanied by a sold-out.
Not music alone
In the same 2011, the group released two books:
Forever Young (about life during the show)
and Dare to Dream (on post-show success).
In November 2012, the group's second album Take Me Home was released, the video of the single Live While We're Young set a record. And bypassed Justin Bieber with the song Boyfriend, gaining 8,2 million views in a day. At the moment, the clip has over 615 million views.
In support of their second album, the musicians performed 101 concerts. 2012 is officially recognized as the year of One Direction.
In August 2013, the film One Direction: This Is Us (about the band's success story) was released. The film was ranked 4th on the list of highest-grossing biographies ever made into a movie.
After watching the screen version, the "fans" learned about the imminent release of the third album of musicians Midnight Memories, in support of which the group organized "1 D Day".
For 7,5 hours, the guys played prizes among their fans, played games with them, talked with friends from the world of music.
A few days later, their new album appeared on sale, the single of which was the eponymous track Midnight Memories.
Also hits on the record were Best Song Ever and Story of My Life. Clips were released for each of the songs.
In the summer of 2014, the musicians announced a concert film, which was filmed in Milan on June 28 and 29 during the concert.
One Direction at its peak
On September 24, 2014, the group released another book, Who We Are, which became the third in the collection. The book deals with interesting facts from the childhood of guys. It also contains rare children's photographs of the artists.
Fourth album Four was released on November 14, 2014. Why it has such a name can be interpreted in different ways: as the fourth album of creativity or as the imminent departure of Zayn from the group. The composition Night Changes was presented as a single.
At the end of July 2015, the band released the song Drag Me Down without prior announcements. It became the single for the fifth album.
In early autumn, fans learned the name of the band's fifth album and heard the promotional single Infinity.
A year later, on November 13, 2015, the musicians presented their fifth album to Made in the AM fans. This is the only album in the history of the group, which did not take the 1st position in the Billboard 200 ratings, but ended up at the 2nd position.
In March 2016, One Direction announced their hiatus. It continues to this day, each member wants to pursue his own solo career.

Today, the One Direction group is a $50 million business empire. Each member is currently developing their solo career.
After Zayn left the band, he presented fans with his first solo album, Mind of Mine. The album included 14 tracks. In each of them he was as an author in collaboration with other musicians.
This is the first artist in the history of music, whose debut album immediately took the 1st position of the charts in the US and the UK.
In December 2016, Zayn Malik presented a collaboration with Taylor Swift I Don't Wanna Live Forever. She became the soundtrack to one of the parts of the film "Fifty Shades of Grey".
In 2017, he collaborated on the song Dusk Till Down with Sia. The singer presented the composition No Regrets in 2018.
On May 12, 2017, Harry presented his solo album Harry Styles, which included 10 songs. His single is Sign of the Times.
Back in 2016, it became known that Harry would be taking part in the filming of Dunkirk (2017). There he played one of the main roles. Harry is often seen as a model for the Gucci fashion house.
Today, Louis Tomlinson is one of the richest and youngest people in the UK.
In 2016, after the death of his mother, Louis presented the song Just Hold On with DJ Steve Aoki, which he dedicated to his mother. The composition immediately took a leading position in the US charts and 2nd position in the UK charts.
Then came such compositions as: Back to You (with singer Bebe Rex), Miss You and Two of Us. All songs were accompanied by clips.
The release of the debut album was scheduled for 2018, but the release dates were postponed indefinitely.
In November 2017, Niall presented his debut solo album Flicker to fans, which included 10 tracks. The album topped the US, Canadian and Irish music charts in its first week of release. In the UK, the collection also took a respectable 3rd position.
Liam released two singles during his solo career in 2017. These are Strip That Down and Get Low, co-authored by Russian-German DJ Zedd.
