Our Atlantic is a Ukrainian band based in Kyiv today. The guys loudly announced their project almost immediately after the official date of creation. The musicians won the Goat Music Battle.
Reference: KOZA MUSIC BATTLE is the largest music competition in Western Ukraine, which is held among young Ukrainian groups and performers working in the genres of indie, synth, rock, stoner, etc.
The team quickly broke into the Ukrainian indie scene in 2017. Our Atlantic is a team that has no analogues (at least in Ukraine).
History of creation and composition of the team
The group was created on the territory of Uman. "Musical" events unfolded in an ordinary rented apartment. Talented graduates of the Uman Musical College, Viktor Baida and Dmitry Bakal, are at the origins of the collective. Today, there is one more participant in the line-up - Alexey Bykov.
By the way, at first the guys did not attach much importance to music and were not going to turn their usual hobby into a profession. They just gave themselves to what they love. The guys spent a lot of time at the digital piano. Somewhat later, during these "gatherings", the first track was born. The birth of the debut composition radically changed the plans of Vitya, Dima and Lyosha.
As noted above, the artists loudly announced themselves at the Koza Music Battle. Then they lit up at the Ukrainian festival "Fine Misto".
“Before participating in the battle, we survived by holding small concerts. But, even such insignificant events gave us unreal pleasure. By the way, Vlad Ivanov was also on the team then. When they saw that the “Goat” announced a recruitment, they thought that it was necessary to take a risk and applied, ”the artists shared their emotions.
In one of the interviews, the vocalist of the team shared his opinion: “Our tracks are listened to and danced to at the same time. We are not limited by any genre framework. They begin to listen to the composition, and already at the 30th second they dance to the song.
Viktor Bayda is a vocalist and arranger. Dmitry Bakal is a bassist, and Alexey Bykov is a tireless drummer.
The creative path of Our Atlantic
In 2018, the musicians were ripe for the release of the first collection. Pillow is a "juicy" entry for musicians in search of their ideal sound. The album includes songs that sound unrealistic. In the work, the artists raised important topics: eternal philosophical questions, the problem of ecology, etc. "Assorted" topics combine perfect vocals and the sound of a synthesizer. With the release of this work, the guys stopped perceiving music as just a hobby.
A year later, the track "Chuesh?" was released. By the way, this piece of music also premiered a video. The composition sets the tone with playful funk.
Reference: Funk is one of the fundamental currents of African American music. The term denotes a musical direction, along with soul, which makes up rhythm and blues.
In 2020, the team presented the EP "The Hour of Roses". Music critics applauded, insisting that the release of the collection is a new stage in the development of the group. The musicians continued to search for their own "I". Critics agreed that the guys composed the EP under the influence of Ukrainian funk.
There was also a place in the work for an ethnic message - the guys masterfully rethink folk motives in the track "Oh, you're a girl entrusted", from the collection "Ukrainian Folk Romances". The premiere of clips for the tracks "Moment" and "Hour of Roses" took place.
“Our planet is what inspires each of the band members. Just imagine how much is happening on Earth - exciting, and not very ... Some events can pass by. The main thing is not to miss anything, and try to find beauty in everything.

- The guys use vintage synthesizers, which, together with melodic vocals, creates the band's signature sound.
- Some time ago, the artists performed under the creative pseudonym Our Atlaantic.

Our Atlantic: Eurovision 2022
In 2022, it turned out that the guys would take part in the National Selection of the Eurovision Music Contest. They shared this joy on January 18 in their social networks. We remind readers that the National Selection will not be held in Ukraine in an updated format, without semi-finals.
Another good news for fans is that on February 10, 2022, the band will perform at Alchemist Bar.
On February 8, 2022, the premiere of the video for the track with which the guys want to go to Eurovision took place. The contest song "My Love" impressed the fans, and the musicians, taking advantage of the increased attention, announced the first solo concert to be held in Kyiv at the Caribbean Club.
Final selection results
The final of the national selection "Eurovision" was held in the format of a television concert on February 12, 2022. The judges' chairs were filled Tina Karol, Jamala and film director Yaroslav Lodygin.
Our Atlantic performed at number 3. Mustachioed Funk was warmly received by the audience. From the judges, the guys received as many as 5 balls. The results of the audience voting were not so optimistic. The audience gave the artists only 3 points. The group failed to become winners. But soon they will give a grand concert.
